The man with the glasses and the girl with the long dark hair sat down at a table in the park only a short distance from the city streets lined with shops and office blocks. They were blissfully unaware that they were being closely watched from nearby.
The girl was smiling happily as she unwrapped her Subway roll. She was pretty, and damn she looked good, much better than she had the right to look! Things could so easily have gone differently one year ago, and she would in the ground right now instead of sitting in the park having lunch with him, the geeky guy in the glasses.
For a moment she felt a pang of emotion for him. Despite the way things ended between them, they had had some good times together, and as much as she hated to admit it she had liked him. But now he was having good times with her, the girl who had cheated death.
And another thing, how dare they come to this park to have their lunch! This park had special memories for herself and him. This is where they had met, and where they used to have lunch.
It took all her self restraint not to march right up to them and confront them.
No, that would give herself away, and her plans were not finished yet. But when they were....she felt a tingle of excitement. Revenge is such a sweet thing!
