The roar of the crowd was still ringing in their ears as they filed off the stage, adrenaline slowly ebbing from their veins. Madrid had been electric-one of those nights where everything clicked, where the energy between the stage and the audience felt like a living, breathing thing.

Now, in the fluorescent-lit backstage corridor, the comedown was beginning. All 7 of them ran backstage, sweating and breathless, grabbing their water bottles and towels to cool off.

Jungkook was practically vibrating. He'd just finished the most insane concert of the tour so far, and the adrenaline was still coursing through his veins like lightning. He bounced on his heels, grinning wide, grabbing Jimin by the shoulders and shaking him.

"Hyung! Did you see that! Did you see ARMY during 'Swim'? They knew every single word! Every single one!"

Jimin laughed, trying to escape his grip. "Yes, yes, I saw! Jungkook-ah, you're going to shake me apart!"

"I can't help it! That was insane!" Jungkook released him only to spin around and grab Taehyung's arm, tugging him close. "Hyung, did you see the ARMY bombs? The ocean of purple? I almost cried on stage. I haven't cried on stage for a long time!"

Taehyung smiled, that soft, fond smile he reserved just for moments like this. "I saw. You were amazing tonight, Jungkookah, everyone was amazing."

"All of us?" Jungkook pouted, but his eyes were sparkling. "What about just me? Was I amazing just me?"

"You're always amazing," Taehyung said, reaching up to ruffle his sweat-damp hair. "Even when you're being a menace."

Jungkook beamed, ducking away from the touch only to immediately gravitate back. "Okay, but seriously, we need to celebrate. I want everything. All the food. I want to eat until I can't move."

"Food," Hoseok announced, already pulling out his phone. "I need actual food too. Not airplane food. Not hotel room service. Real, Spanish, sit-down-at-a-table food."

"Tapas," Jimin agreed immediately, falling into step beside him. "An ARMY posted last night, it's that place near the plaza-"

"Yoongi-hyung said he also saw it when we drove in. Apparently the patatas bravas are-"

"Guys."

Everyone turned. Namjoon was looking at his phone, brow furrowed. "Tae has to be at the airport in two hours. His car will be waiting at the hotel, so we have to go to the hotel first, then we can decide where to go once he's on his way."

The mood shifted, just slightly. The post-concert euphoria meeting the cold reality of their schedule.

Jungkook's smile faltered for just a second, then he forced it back. "Oh right , Paris." He mumbled.

Jimin glanced around the group, then his eyes landed on Taehyung. "Oh. Right. Taehyung can't come-he's got that early flight to Paris for the fashion thing, right?"

Taehyung nodded, running a hand through his sweat-damp hair. "Yeah. Paris awaits, I guess." He tried for a smile, but it didn't quite reach his eyes.

Jungkook had gone very, very still.

Two hours.

He'd known. Of course he'd known. Taehyung had told him weeks ago, had shown him the flight itinerary, had promised he'd be back in a day and a half, had sworn he'd call the second he landed.

But knowing and remembering were two different things. He'd remembered up until this morning, but then ARMYs singing their heart out throughout the concert had made him forget that anything in this world could be wrong.
