Avira's POV 💞🦋

The next morning Rudra took me to the hospital for a regular checkup. The doctor put a gel on my belly and told us to watch the screen right beside me. There it was, our baby.
We could hear the baby's heartbeat. So small.. I felt Rudra's grip on my hand tighten. I looked up to see him crying for the first time. He tried really hard to hide his tears but I saw it.

"Rudra.. tum thik ho?" I whispered.
(Rudra.. are you okay?)

"I'm fine" He smiled, his dimples appearing on his cheeks.

"Your baby and your wife are healthy and strong. You just need to take your medication on time and eat healthy food. You can also do some exercise because if you only rest in bed it can automatically swell your body and might give you pain so it's better if you atleast take a walk for half an hour." The doctor told us and prescribed some medicines.

The doctor smiled and handed us the prescription. We moved out and sat inside our car, not even starting the car.

My whole focus was on the tiny pictures of our baby.. Mine and Rudra's baby 🩷

I carefully traced the blurry picture in my hand. The baby is not fully developed yet but in a few months the baby will be in our arms. My heart was overflowing with so much love that I can't explain.

Beside me, Rudra was sitting unusually quiet. He never stays this quiet around me but after the sonography he seems to be lost in his thoughts.

I wonder what he would be thinking..

"Rudra.. itne chup kyun ho?"
I slightly turned to him.
(Rudra.. why are you so quiet?)

Taking a shaky breath he smiled looking at the road ahead, "Breakfast karne chalen?"
(Shall we go for breakfast?)

Huh.. What happened to him??

I nodded. He started the engine and stopped at a roadside stall.
"Aap car mein hi rahiye. Main aata hun abhi."
(You stay in the car. I'll be right back.

After waiting for five minutes he finally walked up to my side and handed me coconut water and roasted makhane.
I looked at his face then at my lap then again looked at his face.

"Tum samose lana bhool gye shayad. Ise tum khalo." I reminded him and forwarded my hands.
(You probably forgot to bring the samosas. You go ahead and eat this.)

He scratched his eyebrow looking at me sideways, " Yeh aapke liye hi hai Ira. Koi samosa nhi milega aapko."
(This is for you only Ira. You'll not get any samosa.)

I laughed then became quiet, "Huh?? Mujhe yeh nhi chahiye Rudraaaaaa 😭"
(Huh?? I don't want this Rudraaaaaa😭)

He looked completely unbothered.
"Doctor ne kya bola tha?"
(What did the doctor say?)

I crossed my arms, "Doctor ne yeh nahi bola tha ki mujhe samosa se divorce lena hai."
(The doctor didn't say I had to divorce samosa.)

A laugh escaped him.
"Ira, please."

"Bas ek"
(Only one)

"Nahi"
(Nope)

"Half"

"Nahi"
(No)

"Quarter"

"Nahi"
(Naah)

I glared at him while he smiled sweetly. I even wanted to throw the coconut water at his head. He sighed and while I was busy crying loudly he put the straw in my mouth to shut me up.
