Dear Reader,
Welcome to The Don's Collateral.
Before we begin, there are a few things I want you to know.
I don't write perfect people.
I don't promise perfect grammar, either.
There will be the occasional typo, a missing comma, or a sentence that gets away from me at two in the morning.
But every chapter is written with love, and every emotion is intentional.
I write people.
People who make terrible decisions for the right reasons.
People who love too hard, grieve too deeply, bleed too much, and survive things they never should have had to survive.
My characters are messy.
Their love is messy.
Their morality is messy.
And sometimes...
So are their choices.
This story contains crime, violence, grief, betrayal, emotional trauma, morally grey characters, and themes that may be difficult for some readers.
It is also a slow burn.
Not because the story is slow...
But because trust isn't built overnight.
Neither is obsession.
Some chapters will make you laugh.
Some will leave your heart in pieces.
Some will make you question every character in this book.
And yes...
Some chapters contain mature romantic and sexual content intended for adult readers. I don't believe in fading every moment to black, and I don't promise a "clean" romance. If that's what you're looking for, this probably isn't the story for you.
This book isn't about perfect people finding perfect love.
It's about broken people colliding under impossible circumstances.
About grief.
About survival.
About debts that were never theirs to pay.
And about discovering that sometimes...
The most dangerous prison isn't made of locked doors.
It's made of choices.
So, if you're ready to cry, scream, fall in love, get frustrated, forgive people you swore you'd hate, and lose sleep saying,
"Just one more chapter..."
Welcome.
You've officially entered Don Antonio Navarro's world.
Good luck getting out.
With love,
Exeniah Ndhlovu 🖤
