Spring leaves falling marked the end of spring and the start of a scorching summer air. Students finally can relax their shoulders as they walk into school expecting a sentimental end to their high school life.
Class 11B, an empty class which two girls walked in and sat on their seats.
"Augh finally, the exams were soul draining" a female student with brown hair let out and rested her upper body onto her desk. "Hey, what college did you apply to again?" A friend of that student asked while sitting in front of her in her own desk with black hair and blonde stripes. "You know you keep asking me that every week? It's getting really annoying" the student who was resting on her desk stated with an aggressive tone. "Watch your tone and just answer." The friend clicked back.
The door slid open and a girl with long black hair entered. Both of the girls got really quiet and just stared at her with malice. Glaine kept walking to her seat, not even acknowledging their existence.
The girls looked at each other and smiled with ill intent. "Does she think shes too good for us now that the teachers took her side?" One of the girls spoke up loudly to make sure Glaine heard it. "To throw a friend under the bus for some silly prank, i think thats the lowest level someone could go." The other girl responded and looked at her to see her reaction.
Glaine didn't respond, her expression still as the waters during winter. Glaine Benedict knew well that if she did react, it would just be fuel for further conflict. The girls eyebrows frowned and looked annoyed as she kept ignoring them. They turned to themselves and kept minding their own business after getting nothing from Glaine.
"The audacity of them to use the word friend to describe us" Glaine thought as she started unpacking her bag and laying out her books on her desk. "After all the bullshit they put me through, they are far from a friend, even further than an acquaintance. My school bullies, that disguised themselves like a friend. Two headed snakes. They deserve to be put through unimaginable pain to finally understand." As Glaine kept imagining what pain would be acceptable for them, she felt her face slowly scrunching up in anger. She cleared her thoughts knowing her face would betray her.
Slowly the rest of the class started to enter with laughs and liveliness of young students finally relieved after their crucial exams. The teacher demanding everyone to look thoroughly in their books and return them in a box placed in front of the classroom. "As soon as this day is over, these scumbags wont ever be seen." Glaine kept to herself and as the teacher asked.
The day was nearing its end, and the chatter of everyone being sentimental and reminiscing of their years together was filling up the class. Glaine felt suffocated in this environment where she no longer could reach out to her desk mates and have a nice conversation of the future and the past they spent together. After all, this wasn't exactly how it was three years ago.
*Three years ago*
"Alright new class! This is a new page of your life, cherish it because three years go in a blink of an eye." The teacher said and later introduced herself. "My name is Malorie Hearty and i am looking forward to help building your future together.". Glaine, a freshly 16 year old, smiling elegantly with a slight excitement in her heart. Like the teacher, Malorie stated, it is a new page of life. As the students were introducing themselves to the class one by one, her heart kept pounding slightly higher as it was nearing her turn.
"My name is Glaine Benedict and i am very excited to know more of every individual in this room." She said with an elegance that made the class quiet for a second. "Ha, nailed it, look at their admiring eyes" Glaine smiled to herself with pride secretly and sat down.
She had a nice start at her first year. She migrated into a friend group and did decent on her papers. But slowly as the months passed, everyone started having their own problems, whether it be family, economy or just love. It set a tone for the class, which was not heavy but yet noticeable change. Unlucky for Glaine, she was caught in between two lovers involuntarily. The girl named Mary and her boyfriend, Martin. This situation would completely change her.
