Chapter 54: The Healthy Baby Boy

"I love you" she smiled.

She's weak yet still smiling.

She look on the nurses and extended her arms. The nurse lay our Skipper on her side. 

I sniff when I felt another wave of bliss crawled on my being. I'm still mesmerized at the thought of our baby. I didn't expect that seeing your baby for the first time can be this exuberant. 

"Skipper is so handsome" my wife smiled. She's crying with so much joy.

I lifted my baby and hold him in my arms. 

I can feel my heart swelling with so much jubilation. 

"Hi, son" I said to the baby. He's still crying.

And right there, his cry is my new favorite melody. 

The nurse get him from me. When I look at my wife, her eyes are closed.

I felt panicked at first but the doctor assured me that it's normal after giving birth.

I am with Tats, Kuya Nex, Mommy, Daddy, Troy and Trent while waiting for my wife to wake up.

"Kuya is already on his way" Kuya Nex said after having a call from Kuya.

"Excited si Nathaniel sa pamangkin niya" natatawang sabi ni Daddy. 

I can't wipe the smile off my face. 

"I think we should get some bodyguards to tighten the security" seryosong sabi ni Troy.

I frowned at him.

"There are few people downstairs trying to get a glimpse of your son. The media are all over the place. Cleo's name is still an item, and getting an interview from you will be on high demand" paliwanag niya

"Yeah" sagot ko na lamang.

"I already took care of that" sabi naman ni Daddy. "Na-predict ko na"

"Protective, Lolo" nakangiting sabi ni Mommy. 

Umakbay si Daddy kay Mommy. "Nakakatanda naman ang Lolo. Popsy nalang" 

Agad naman na sumang-ayon si Mommy.

"More than a thousand likes in an hour?" manghang sabi ni Tats at ipinakita sa akin ang phone niya.

I proudly smile. "Syempre, anak ko 'yan" 

I posted his image on my IG an hour ago, with the caption of 'Skipper Clint Vergara, my boy'

Nagkwentuhan pa kami ng mga ibang bagay. Kuya is calling from time to time. Cleo's parents are on their way.

After twenty minutes, Troy stood up.

"Maine is having a hard time getting here" he said then left the room.

Nang bumalik si Troy ay kasama na niya si Maine at Alisson. They brought cake and balloons. 

Not so long, Eric arrived. Then Courtney and Cleo's parents.

Mabuti na lamang at malaki ang room at kasya kaming lahat.

Dinala na si Skipper sa room. Ang asawa ko naman ay tulog pa din.

Parang gusto ko nang ipagdamot sa kanila ang anak ko. Nalalamog kasi sa kakapasahan nila at pa-picture.

"Kamukha ni Cleo" sabi ni Eric. "Hina mo, bro" natatawang sabi niya

"May susunod pa naman" natatawang sabi ko at nagulat ako nang may kumurot sa akin
