Past Lovers (A Nalu fanfic)

Prologue

She looks into his eyes, her beautiful blue eyes staring into his soul, her cheeks red and tears running down her face. Her white bangs covering her face as she sobs.

She begs for him to stay but he can't, he's already fading away.

"Please! You can't die now." Tears fall down her face.

Seeing her like this breaks his heart. "Don't cry," he tells her.

A single tear falls from her eyes onto his cheek. "Lis I can't make it and you know that."

"You can't die. Please! You promised we would always be together!"

He lays on the floor of their home. Young and in love they both ran away; her parents didn't approve of them being together. After a full year, her parents found them.

They were naive to think that they could hide forever, the peace they had built, the new life they shared had been destroyed in just a few seconds. They broke into the home that morning and tried to take her away.

She was to be married to a guy ten years older than her, and he didn't have money or the status the other guy had, they were in debt and needed the marriage to go from middle class to upper class.

He refused to let her go and took her to a differ room, locking themselves in in an attempt to escape out the window. Using his body to block the door as she began to climb out, a gunshot rang out.

She turned to see him fall, blood beginning to soak his shirt. she screamed as she ran to him.

"Lis, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you." They forced the door open and her father grabbed her.

"Soru! Put me down! SORU!" she thrashed and screamed trying to escape.

Then everything went dark.

Waking up in the middle of a beautiful field of tulips, he looks around. They were Elisa's favorite. There's a bridge in the distance, the endless fields look so beautiful. Unsure of where he was, but knowing he's not alive, he walks to the bridge. As he gets to the bridge he takes one last glance behind him.

"I love you, I'll see you again Elisa, in another life."

As he steps across the bridge a hand stops him. He looks back and meets her face, Elisa. She looks up at him with her beautiful blue eyes.

She holds his hand, and lifts her other hand to his face.  Why was she here? He knew that he had died, that meant... he wants to ask what happened, he doesn't know how she died, but he knows that she's here with him.  "Lis what are you doing here?"

"I ran as much as I could, I got to the bridge that leads into town and they were so close behind me I panicked. I jumped. After that everything went dark and now I'm here, with you."

He won't be Soru Ryuu in his next life, and she will no longer be Elisa Yoshida, but he knows they will find each other in their next life. When that happens maybe will be finally get to be happy.
