Rip Us (part 2)

Finally it was time for lunch and of course with my luck I didn't have lunch with my only friends. What a surprise. I  sat on the ground right next to the media center. I got out my earphones and put them in. (Buy) Drag Me Down (on iTunes) streamed out of the buds as  I ate my granola bar.
I see a group of people walking across the quad and know it's them. I look down while placing my wrapper in my backpack as someone sits by me and takes one earphone out of my ear. W-T-F. I turned to see what hoe I would have to kill today and it was the guy from my science class.
"Um?? Excuse you?" I took the earphone from his hand and put it back in my ear.
He took it back out and put it in his ear.
"What are you doing" I asked frustrated.
"I just want to know what your listening to"
"YOU COULD HAVE ASKED!!!1! I don't know if you have a gross ear infection or something"
"Well I don't so chill"
Is he serious?!? I didn't reply to him just got out my phone and scrolled through Instagram liking all the pictures of my baes.
"So why were you upset earlier?" He asked standing up and sitting in front of me instead of next to me.
"Why do you think I was upset?"
"The look in your eyes"
"Oh. It doesn't matter." I turned off my music.
"Of course it matters. Come on talk to me. We can become the best of friends"
I sighed "okay well you see those people over there" I pointed to them. "We used to be friends and now we're not. That's it"
"What why?"
"Why do you ask so many questions"
He laughed "I asked my question first"
I rolled my eyes "last year they all had first lunch while I had 2nd lunch. We thought it was gonna work out and we would all stay friends. It's didn't really work out that way; we went from talking until 2 am, to 2 hours a day, to 2 minutes a day, to 2 days ago, to never. So we just stopped talking." I felt tears about to escape my eyes.
"You didn't try to talk to them?"
"I did. I did but there comes a point where you get sick of starting the conversation and having to be the person to invite people to things so you make sure you're included. It was finally time for me to stop trying to make something happen that would never happen." He wiped off the tears that were streaming down my face and hugged me.
"Don't cry. It'll be alright. We're friends and I'll never leave you like that."
I wiped the rest of my tears off and asked "so why do you ask so many questions?"
