There was a time when Min Y/N's eyes spoke more than her words ever did.
They carried light.

Joy sat easily on her face, and laughter followed her like a shadow that never left. She was the kind of girl who believed everything would turn out fine... simply because it always had.

Y/N grew up in a simple, loving family. Not rich, not poor... just enough to be happy. Her world was small but full. A protective older brother, Min Suga, who acted like her personal shield, and an elder sister, Min IU, who scolded her one moment and spoiled her the next.

She was honest. Calm. Quietly brave in ways no one really noticed.
Her childhood was ordinary.
Soft. Safe.

Until it wasn't.

When she was eight, her family visited their village for a short vacation. It was the kind of place where time moved slower, where evenings smelled like wet soil, and everyone knew everyone.

Y/N loved it there.

To the villagers, she was "Min's little girl," the child who smiled at everyone and waved like she belonged to the whole place. And maybe, in her own way, she did.

Near their house, there was a narrow river that ran like a silver ribbon through the village. Children often played nearby, though they were always warned not to go too far..

One afternoon, while playing with a few village friends, Y/N overheard something that made her eyes light up.

"There's a waterfall," one of them said.

"A little far from here. If you follow the river, you'll find it."

A waterfall.

The word echoed in her mind like a secret waiting to be discovered.

"Let's go see it," Y/N suggested, excitement bubbling in her voice.
Her friends immediately shook their heads.

"No. We're not allowed to go there. Our parents will scold us."

But Y/N wasn't used to fear. She had been raised in warmth, in love that never raised its voice too high. Rules, to her, felt more like suggestions.

"We can go secretly," she whispered.
Her friends only laughed... and louder than she expected, they called out to her brother.

"Suga! hyung Your sister wants to go to the waterfall!"

Min Suga walked over, already understanding the situation. He didn't scold her. He never really did.

Instead, he gently pulled her aside.
"Not now," he told her softly.
"It's not safe. I'll take you there someday, okay?"

Y/N pouted for a moment... but then nodded.

And just like that, the idea drifted away.
Or so it seemed.

Days passed.

The thought of the waterfall slowly faded, buried under games, laughter, and lazy village evenings.

Until one day, it returned.

The sky was turning a soft shade of orange, the kind that made everything feel calm and endless.

Y/N was sitting outside their house, playing with wet soil, shaping it into tiny houses with careful hands. Beside her, her father, Mr. Min, watched with a quiet smile.

He always treated her differently... not like she was fragile, but like she was strong enough to stand on her own.

"Y/N," he called gently, "it's getting late. Come inside."

"No, Dad... just a little more," she said, not even looking up.

He chuckled.

"Alright. But come straight home after this. Don't wander anywhere."

"I won't!" she replied quickly.

Satisfied, he stepped inside.

Y/N continued building her little world... until something caught her attention.

A man was passing by.
He was holding the hands of two girls... tightly. Too tightly.
They looked around her age.
And they were crying.

Y/N tilted her head, confused.
Why are they crying?
She recognized them. They were from the village.

But something felt... wrong.

The man didn't look back.
He just kept walking.

Toward the river.

A small thought sparked in her mind.
If I follow them... I can see the waterfall too.

Curiosity wrapped around her innocence, whispering softly.
Without thinking twice, Y/N stood up.

And followed.

That.....was her biggest mistake.
