{3rd person} - {683 words} - short chapter sorry

Alexander Hamilton is on a ship that is New York bound. He sighed as he looked at the Atlantic Ocean. It didn't always make him feel like this, but of course nothing always stays the same. He turned to his left and saw what he felt like thousands of people getting off the boat, even though it was more like a hundred. He looked back once more and joined the crowd.

He looked at New York's big sky scrapers and felt smaller than he ever had before. Even though he's 5 feet and 7 inches (170 centimeters) which is a decent height there was something here that made him feel like he was 3 feet shorter than everyone else around him, even the small children. After a few seconds he was pushed and shoved enough making him realize he needed to keep moving. Alexander walked until he saw people stopping and getting in these yellow cars. He wondered why until he realized it was to get a ride. He quickly rushed to copy those around him and one of the yellow cars stopped in front of him.

Alexander got inside the car saying and said hi. The driver responded with a "Where to?" Once Alexander told him they started off to the Princeton College grounds. It was a long drive. About an hour. After the driver stopped in front of the college Alex paid him with the little money he had and the driver sped off.

He sighed and walked until he saw a sign that directed him to the dormitory. He didn't know anybody at this new school and hoped that he wouldn't need to know anyone to get around. Its not that Alex was unfriendly its that he was shy. He didn't feel comfortable talking to strangers. Or getting attached with anyone, now that he came to think of it. Not after what had happened back home.

He opened the doors to the dormitory building and immediately ran into a lady that looked like she was in a rush. When they collided her papers, which Alexander had assumed were for the classes she was taking, went everywhere. As a matter of fact the pages seemed to come out of nowhere even though they were coming out of notebooks and binders that were now on the floor.

"Im so sorry! I didn't see you there!" The girl cried.

Alexander bent down to help her gather her papers and replied, "That's quite alright. Are you okay?" He may not like talking to strangers, but if he had to he might as well be polite.

"Just fine thank you. And thanks for helping me. I'm Elizabeth Schuyler pleasure to meet you." The girl, Elizabeth, talked fast. It was hard for Alex to keep up with what was being said.

He stood there processing for a bit before managing to say "Im Alexander Hamilton, and the pleasure is all mine."

Elizabeth blushed a bit "Well Alexander you can call me Eliza! Im headed to meet a few friends of mine. Would you like to come? Not to be judgemental but you look like you could use some friends."

Alexander didn't know what to say to that. It was kind of offending, but she was right, he did need friends. "Sure I would be delighted to come and join you!"

Eliza smiled and motioned for him to follow. They walked in silence, but it wasn't awkward, at least for Alex who enjoyed the silence. They walked past where Alex had gotten dropped off and past a few shops he had seen on the way. After a block or two they stopped at a small Starbucks he hadn't noticed on his drive in the taxi. Eliza opened the door for both of them and they walked inside. Eliza guided him to where her friends where and she sat down and introduced him to her friends. Alex said a vague "Hi" to nobody in particular and slid into the booth, but when he looked up who he saw sitting before him stopped him dead.
