Day at the beach (Gaara)

I get out of bed thanks to the sun glaring through my window. I headed to the bathroom hoping it wouldn't already be occupied. I put my hand on the doorknob and as soon as I do the door opens.

"Well good morning y/n" he says.

"Morning Kakashi" I say.

Yup. The copy ninja is my brother. "Want some toast for breakfast?" He yells from the kitchen. "Yeah thanks" I yell back.

Suddenly there's a knock on the door and I immediately know who it is.

"Oh Hi Shizune how may I help you?" I hear Kakashi say.
I put my ear against the door to listen to the conversation.

"Lady Tsunade wants you to be an escort for a top vip person. The path you will be taking will have to go through the sound village which is why we had to get you. Asuma and Kurenai will be accompanying you." She says.

"Ah I see. Thanks I'll be at the gate as soon as possible." Kakashi says.

Tonton squeals. "Uh is she okay?" Kakashi asks. Shizune laughs "She just finds it hard to believe that you will be at the gate so quick. But thanks and good luck" she says leaving. 

I storm out of the bathroom once again angered because today I was supposed to have a fun day with my brother but that obviously won't be happening anytime soon.
Kakashi follows me to my room and tries to apologize, "Y/n I'm sorry but you know I have no cho-"  I cut him off,

"I know I understand how important the missions are but I just want to spend time with you. We only have each other and we rarely get to see each other at all." I say wiping my tears away.

"I promise that after I get back I will ask Lady Tsunade for a day off  and we can do whatever you want." we sit there in silence as he hugs me.

"Okay I'm sorry for getting mad at you but promise me you will ask?" I pout. He chuckles "of course I promise. Now I have to get going see you later."

And with that he leaves. "Well I guess I should go do chores. First, going grocery shopping." I say to myself. I make my way outside and start walking when I hear commotion. 

"Naruto hey!" I yell as I make my way to him.
He turns around and says
"Hey y/n what are you up to?"

I laugh and respond "Well I could ask you the same. What are you doing yelling at people?" I look at the guy that is standing a few feet away from Naruto and I guess he noticed because he looked back at me and I embarrassingly looked away.

"Y/n this here is Gaara he is from the sand village and he said I would never be Hokage !! Please tell him how amazing I am oh pleaseee" he says getting down and begging me.

I look both at Naruto and Gaara not knowing what to say.  "Don't worry about it Naruto I think you'd make a great Hokage some day." I say smiling.

"You see Gaara I will be Hokage one day! Believe it!" Naruto yells. Gaara stands there looking annoyed at Naruto. I laugh and say goodbye to Naruto and Gaara. I finally make it to the store and begin on the fruits sections. I reach to grab an apple but I loose my grip and it starts to fall but suddenly I saw sand catching it's fall. The sand begins to go to its owner as well as the apple. I see a guy reaching for the apple and making his way to return it to me. Then I realize it was Gaara.

"You should be more careful." He says. I couldn't tell if it was just me but he never seemed to have emotion in his face. It made me feel like I should be careful but I wasn't scared.

"Thanks. Nice meeting you, again. But I have to be on my way" I say walking past him. I think I might have a crush on him... I pay for the produce and go home. I decided to go outside instead of boring myself to death being stuck at home. I sneak out of the leaf village. I had done it many times before. Even after being scolded by Lady Tsunade and Kakashi but I could defend myself and I didn't wander off to far. I make my way to my peaceful place a little beach not too far from civilization. I sit on the sand admiring the beauty of it all. Suddenly I hear someones voice and I turn to see some drunk guy making his way towards me. I stand up immediately. "Shit" I mumble under my breath.

"Don't get any closer mister you will regret it!" I yell in hopes of scaring this stranger.

"Hahaha you think I would be scared of a little pretty defenseless girl like you" he slurs.
I decide to run but as soon as I do I stumble onto another drunk guy. Great just my luck. I stood there looking at both of them trying to think about what to do if one of them dares to touch me. I then feel the presence of someone else's chakra and I slowly turn afraid to see another low life but to my surprise it was Gaara!

"You know you shouldn't be messing around like that because you might just end up dead" he says to the two drunk men.

I make my way to Gaara and hide behind him like a frightened child. The two men suddenly get scared and run away. Gaara turns around and looks at me
"What were you doing out here all alone by yourself?" He asks.

"Uh well I just like to hang out here and it usually is peaceful and all but thanks for saving me." I say blushing.

"You're lucky I was around. Your brother would have gone crazy if something had happened to you." He says.

I look up and stare at him in shock. "How did you know that ? Who told you?" I ask.

"Word gets around" he replies.

I laugh and say "Liar. Naruto told you, didn't he?"

"He might've mentioned it" he says.

"Well thanks again. I hope we can be friends." I say. But when I said the word friends he just looked down. I wonder why. I decide to hug him as a thank you and he looked bothered a bit since he didn't hug me back but he didn't pull away either. I kind of felt sad because it seemed that he didn't like me as well.

"I guess I should get going then" I say turning my heel but as soon as I do, sand grabs my wrist and I turn around confused by the action.

"Gaara what's wrong?" I ask.

"Look I don't like anyone. I feel that everyone is scum. I also believe that love and trust are two stupid things." He says.

"I'm sorry you feel that way." I say saddened at how he feels.

"Earlier when we met I thought you were annoying but something inside me was refusing to believe that. I tried to hate you but I just couldn't. I still don't know what this feeling is but when I'm with you I forget about everything else." He admits.

This side of him that I had wished to seen when we first met, I wish he did show it. I love how he's opening up to me. Something he clearly doesn't do with others. I didn't realize that I had not said anything until he spoke again.

"I was really just wondering if we could be friends at least" he says. I look up at him and smile.

"To tell you the truth when we first met I may have had a crush on you." I say blushing.

He approaches me and I look up to see him looking down on me. He puts his hand on my cheek and draws circles with his thumb. He then places his other hand on my waist and pulls me closer to him. Our faces mere inches away from each other.

"You're the only person who makes me want to love them without even trying." He says.
With that our lips crash and our mouths start to move in sync. We pull away to get some air.
And that was how I met my best friend/boyfriend. It was the best day of my life.
