Tech x Fashion Expo Venue, Main Hall - 10:18 A.M.

The Expo was alive.

Not the polite kind of alive that waited to be impressed, but the kind that hummed through the floors, bounced off the glass walls, and threaded itself into every breath taken inside the hall.

Lights swept across the ceiling in slow arcs.

Holographic fabric displays rotated gracefully beside interactive tech panels.

Students, professors, sponsors, and media moved like currents, drawn from one innovation to the next.

At the center of it all stood Mingyu.

He had already spoken twice onstage.

Answered questions.

Smiled for cameras.

Redirected a near-meltdown involving a misaligned projector with the ease of someone who had survived far worse than technical difficulties.

Still, his chest felt tight.

Not from nerves.

From absence.

He glanced instinctively toward the side entrance again, then caught himself and looked away.

"He's watching," Jeonghan murmured beside him, arms crossed as he surveyed the crowd.

"I know," Mingyu replied quietly.

Jeonghan tilted his head, eyes sharp.

"You've checked that door seven times in ten minutes."

Mingyu exhaled.

"Habit."

"Or hope."

Mingyu didn't answer.

Across the hall, Seungkwan was animatedly explaining the concept integration to a cluster of guests, Dino demonstrating interface responsiveness with dramatic flair.

Minghao monitored the tech readouts like a proud guardian.

Jun laughed at something Vernon said, while Joshua calmly mediated a sponsor's questions.

Everything was working.

Perfectly.

And yet.

Mingyu's phone vibrated in his pocket.

He checked it out of reflex.
