chapter one.

Mr. Thomas an old rodeo star and his son clay Thomas from Alabama had just moved into the small Town of whiplash ga an old small southern town built in the 1890s as an old railroad town later turned into a town full of old ga rodeo legends and rednecks who don't know how to drive, of course Mr. John Thomas had only one thing on his mind and that was an old farm and of course the animals that came with it, Mr. Thomas had a few good acres of farm land that he owned and some cows already that land, but he wanted two good horses because on his mind was also the thought of his son following in his footsteps, he had an old friend name drew smith he knew that that freind would be glad to see him and let him buy two good horses so that's the second place they went (the first place was mamma's kitchen an old restaurant to get some breakfast)

Mr. Smith got a call and knew that his old buddy was coming over so he told his daughter April and his son Aprils brother Ryker to get ready to meet an old friend of his Ryker who was excited to meet them but April had more important things on her mind,
Ryker went and got his pet bull frog that he was gonna bring to show and tell so he could show the visitors his pet while April was interrogating her dad about the visitors she had found out that Mr. Thomas was an old rodeo legend back in Alabama but had a bad fall and busted his hip which ended his rodeo career and that clay his son was in the same grade as her ninth grade.

They arrived and April, clay, drew and John went to look at horses, drew and John went looking for one horse and April helped clay out.

(First person, April's pov.)
I walked over with Clay to reba a yearling mare my little brother named during his reba obsession that obviously didn't last long, Clay was really picky even though he'd never owned a horse before he'd said that he "didn't want a mare he wanted a gelding a Young one with a pretty pattern that's a strong horse" I showed him another horse who was strong he was a paint horse his name was red and he was only five, he didn't really want a horse at all but he said he'd take him. I thought that would be the last I'd seen of him.

At school April found out that her and clay had three of the same classes she didn't think much of it but her friend Layla did Layla also shared those classes with them, first period was the first class they shared and in first period while they were studying April heard Kinsley aka little miss priss saying how April was only a wet nosed two year old stuck in a teens body April was used to this bullying so she ignored this but Kinsley didn't like this at all, so in second period the second class they all shared Kinsley said that April's mom was a know it all hoe that has no business being in this community (Aprils Mom had died that same year) April immediately jumped up and went over to Kinsley and punched her giving her a nose bleed and got sent to the principal's office, she explained herself and the principal gave her a month of school therapy which April thought was unfair.

Back in Ryker's classroom it was show and tell day he had put his pet bullfrog in his pocket and he was so excited when it was his turn he pulled the frog out and it jumped out of his hands into the teacher miss hart's lap she jumped up screaming and his the button to talk to the principal telling him what happened once Ryker caught his frog he went to the principal's office, the principal was surprised to see two Smiths in one day but he just rolled with the flow.

After school in the truck on the way home
Aprils father disciplined her with words and she took it to heart too not because the words were put in the right way but because she could hear the disappointment in her father's voice and she hated that, Ryker on the other hand got extra homework from the teacher and extra chores from his father and he wasn't a bit happy about either one.

They ate leftovers from mamma's kitchen for supper Ryker was excited about it because he didn't like his fathers cooking very much but April just missed her moms cooking and so did her father he didn't like his own cooking either, after supper Ryker had to take a bath which he refused to take unless he could take one with his bullfrog, April refused to let him so she just picked him up and threw him in the bath clothes on and everything he was mad but he was cooking up something exciting for payback, while April was in the shower Ryker stuck in and threw the front in the shower with her she jumped out butt naked and yelled next time you do something like that we'll be having frog legs for dinner.
