"Newt!" I yell. I walk around him and stand next to Thomas. "I thought we talked about this."

"We did," he replies.

"Then what the hell are you doing?"

"I was just trying to help you."

"Help? Thomas was just excited about his day, how could I possibly be in need of assistance?"

"He grabbed you."

"And then started jumping up and down in excitement. Nothing is happening."

"I'm just looking out for you."

"Thank you, but this isn't the way to go about it. You have to stop breaking up all of my conversations and following me everywhere I go, okay?"

"Okay."

I wait for him to leave, but he doesn't. He's still standing there. "Um, Newt?"

He looks surprised. "What?"

"Weren't you leaving?" I ask, trying to give him a hint.

"No," he replies. He either doesn't understand, or he's choosing not to understand.

"Newt, please leave."

A look of confusion and hurt spreads across his face. "Why?"

"I was having a conversation with Thomas."

"So?"

"Why do you need to be here for it?"

"Why can't I be here?"

"Okay, I'm about done with this. I'm just going to go anywhere but here and you aren't going to follow me. Okay?" I leave quickly towards the homestead.

As I leave I hear him shout, "you're gonna be sorry when you need me and I'm not there!"
