Hello all!!! It's me again, and this time, I got another batshit AU for you guys to enjoy!

First of all, happy (albeit, late) Valentine's Day to those who celebrate! I decided to play with a concept that I had been mapping out ever since I wrote Safe & Sound's last chapters. I saved this story's publish date for a Valentine's Day release in specific, because I feel like it'll be poetic when this story takes a very drastic turn... for the worse.

So, as the description insights, this story is more of a thriller/horror-themed inspired by some of my favorite games; one of which you'll notice very quickly with the aesthetic and story's theme. Of course, it is another Charshall fanfic, but this one is more pre-established rather than building up, in a sort. However, there's still a lot of building up to do, as this fic... may not be the type of story you're expecting.

This fic in it's entirety is more so an experimental attempt to contest myself in trying different themes, especially with the case of a survival/horror type of storyline while also tapping into genres I haven't played with before. So, I hope that this fic does manage to catch your attention for what it is, even though it may not be your cup of tea. So, whether you stay or go, you are welcome to do either! This fic is not perfect, and it's very different from what I'm used to, so... apologies if this becomes a mess.

So, kick back, relax, and enjoy all the angst in this opening!

P.S: A lot of names, birthdays, and such from Safe & Sound are also reused here, I liked them too much to part from them so early. Don't stone me!

Tick. Tock.

Tick. Tock.

The ticking of the clock happened to be the only ambience that managed to peer through the quiet office-like room. Most of the noises from the outside, such as cars and occasional voices speaking either out lord or to one another, were mostly snuffed out by the thick walls of the building.

The dalmatian sat there on the two-seater sofa, his coat taking up the second space where someone else likely would have been sitting. Maybe if it was two of them coming together then it would have been filled, but for now, it was a good enough spot for him to rest his outerwear.

Any minute now, he thinks to himself quietly.

He could feel the subtle tremble within his hands as he tried to remain in place, pushing one atop of the other. Yet, that only seemed to trigger another reaction as his leg started bouncing against the wooden floorboards beneath him.

Why was he anxious at this time? He had already been looking forward to an appointment ever since he had gotten back onto his feet. It was recommended by everyone that was surrounding him, from his dad, from his brother, from the pups... almost anybody who knew Marshall beyond the surface level said for him to go.

He also wanted to go; it wasn't a matter of just being pressured. He knew it was for the better and it would have made such a strong contribution to his mental health if it were done right.

So, why was he afraid?

Afraid? He wasn't afraid either.

He doesn't know why the term crossed his mind in that moment, because there wasn't anything for him to be afraid of. He was back within his hometown, within the vicinity and the city that he had practically known at the back of his hand. There wasn't anything to be scared of, especially in a room that was made for comfort.
