Cale POV

I tried to stay calm and just entered the classroom, but the moment I stepped inside, every single gaze turned toward me. Too much attention. Damn it.

Choi Han: “Cale-nim…”

I flinched a little when I heard Choi Han’s voice behind me. When I turned around, I nearly shivered at the dark expression on his face. He looked as if his soul was about to leave his body.

Choi Han: “…What was that just now?”

His tone was cold enough to freeze the air in the room, if that were even possible.

I sighed, walked over to my usual seat, and dropped my bag on the desk.

Cale: “If you mean the scene in the hallway, that was just theater.”

I whispered casually while opening my bag.

Choi Han: “Theater?"

He repeated, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Everyone was too busy whispering among themselves, so they wasn't paying me much attention now. I took out my textbook, my notebook, and my pen, and sat down quietly.

Choi Han: “Funny… it didn’t look like acting to me.”

Says the man who sounded like a broken robot in The Birth of Love when he tried to act out a role.

Choi Han: “…It didn’t look like you were against it either.”

What’s with him now?

Cale: “Of course I wasn’t against it. It was for believability.”

Choi Han: “Believability, you say…”

He sat down beside me, mumbling something under his breath with a dark look. Something told me I didn’t want to know what he was muttering about.

Strange. Choi Han wasn’t this gloomy in the original game. Anyway, not my problem.

Before I knew it, it was lunchtime.
Choi Han and I went to the cafeteria. Beacrox was serving food to the students with an expression that matched Choi Han’s today. Both looked like thunderclouds. It seemed they were in a bad mood for some reason.

Cale: “Hey, Beacrox. You okay?”

Beacrox: “…Young Master Cale? Yes… I’m fine…”

That was the most obvious lie I’d ever heard.

Beacrox: “What will you have today?”

Cale: “One steak, a salad, and an orange juice.”

Beacrox: “Isn’t that too little?”

Oh no, please don’t start this again.
I’ll develop a cafeteria phobia if you force me to eat as much as last time.

Cale: “N-No, no, that’s enough.”

Beacrox: “But—”

Cale: “Beacrox, one steak, one orange juice, and one salad are enough.”

Beacrox sighed and nodded with a faint smile.

Beacrox: “As you wish, Young Master Cale.”

Of course, he gave me two steaks anyway.
I didn’t say anything, because it was pointless.

After getting my lunch, I looked for a table while Choi Han ordered his. I sat down at an empty one, but a few minutes later, someone else joined me. It wasn’t Choi Han. It was Eric.
He was smiling in a weird way today.
