Y/n travelled with the Weasleys and Harry Potter to the same house from the summer. Today was Christmas. "Here we go~" Molly smiled widely, helping Aurther sit down at the table. "Daddy's back."

All the Weasley children applauded for the injured man, "Sit down everybody, sit down," All the children sat down. Harry and Y/n entered the room after the Weasley's and Hermione got their presents. "Oh, Harry," Molly rushed over, happily. "There you are," Molly gave him a present too.

Sirius and Remus were at the doorway, watching. Y/n raised her glass with everyone else, not really caring about the toast. They all raised a glass to Harry Potter. Remus gave Y/n her gift afterwards, not wanting her left out.

She smiled gratefully, "Thanks..." At least he was trying. Inside the box was an advanced potions book, making her smile a little. At least he knows what I like. Y/n gave the man an awkward hug.

-

Later in the day, Y/n overheard Harry talking to Sirius, "...afterwards in Dumbledore's office, there was a moment when I- I wanted to..." Harry took a loud breath, "This connection between me and Voldemort... What if the reason for it is that I am becoming more like him? I- I just feel so angry all the time. And... What if after everything that I've been through, something's gone wrong inside me? What if I'm becoming bad?"

"I want you to listen to me very carefully, Harry," Sirius replied, Y/n stayed hidden from the other side of the wall, quietly, "You're not a bad person. You're a very good person who bad things have happened to. You understand?" There was some silence before he continued, "Besides, the- the world isn't split into good people and death eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are."

Hermione came up from behind her, scaring her half to death. "Jesus." she whispered-yelled.

"Are you eavesdropping?" Hermione whispered.

"They're having a moment," She shrugged.

Hermione rolled her eyes and then knocked on the wall, "Harry, time to go."

"When all of this is over," Sirius said, walking Harry toward the two girls, "We'll all be a proper family. You'll see."

Harry gave Sirius a tight hug, then went off, following Hermione. Y/n stayed back for a second, "Hey, Sirius," she said with a curious tone. "I was curious... Do you happen to know if Remus is still in love with my mother?"

He looked down at the girl amused, "I'd be surprised if he wasn't." He chuckled. "Your mother is the 'one that got away'. Like I told you years ago, they were supposed to get married... but your grandfather-"

"I know, he got in the way," she sighed. "One more question, is what Harry said about his connection to Voldemort true? Like feeling what he feels?"

He hesitated, "Well, don't tell Harry but... we're theorizing that Voldemort-intentionally or not-put a piece of his soul in Harry, causing Harry to have some of his power, and unfortunately, a telepathic connection. Y/n," he said her name seriously, "If you know something, never be afraid to reach out to me," he put a hand on her shoulder, "I know you will lean the other way at some point because of your grandfather, but... be careful, doing the right thing, even though it's hard, be smarter. You're the brightest witch I've ever met, don't throw it away for a mistake."

Y/n looked down at her feet, could Sirius possibly know. "Thank you, Sirius," she smiled up at him after a moment. "Please tell Remus... Dad... that I really do love my present," she said, then turned to leave.

-

Back at Hogwarts, Y/n walked into the Great hall, seeing Neville Longbottom with his teeth clenched and seemingly spaced out. "Neville, are you alright?" She put her hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Bellatrix Lestrange," he muttered. "She's free."

"Oh," she sat down slowly, rubbing his back, "She's the one who-"

"Yeah..." he looked down.

"It's ok," she kissed his cheek, trying to cheer him up.

"Thank you, Y/n," he smiled sadly.

Harry looked over from where he was standing, looking angry and jealous. Y/n stood up and went to the Slytherin table as if nothing happened. If what Sirius said was true, then Harry's feelings for her were only Voldemort's all along.

-

"I'll make short work of this," Umbridge said, pointing her wand at the wall. Y/n and the other Inquisitor Squad members watched as she broke down the wall. "Bombarda Maximum," she said in her pitchy voice. The wall exploded, revealing a room full of students. Draco and Y/n held Cho by her arms, showing the rest who the 'snitch' was.

"Get them." Umbridge demanded.

-

Mr. Filch added a new poster to the wall, though it was so high up nobody could see it. But everyone knew what it said, Dolores Umbridge is the new headmaster.

"Boys and girls are not permitted to be within 8 inches of each other." Umbridge announced over the speaker. Maybe announcements similar to that played daily.

Eventually, a group punishment for all those involved with the 'Dumbledore Army' scandal was in the great hall, with Umbridge supervising. Y/n happened to sit next to her, having tea with her. Cho Chang was not involved in the punishment, since she snitched. After everybody left, they gave her bad looks. Y/n was still having tea with Umbridge, against her will of course. But she was the best student and is growing to be Umbridge's favorite since she knows how to suck up when it counts.

"Tell me, dear," Umbridge said, sitting her tea. "Have you thought of getting a job at the Ministry?"

"I haven't given any career much though yet, Ma'am," she replied politely.

"I'm sure I could arrange an internship for you, dear, if you'd like," she sipped her tea. "As long as you stay great academically, and follow all of the school rules, that is."

"Of course, headmistress," she nods. God I hate this fucking woman, Y/n thought as she smiled.
