"Me, it's me.... I'm dying."

Jin Woo froze.

"What?!"

"I'll die in a few days, a week... at most."

Alora said earnestly, her voice hoarse, her tone was sincere with no room for doubt. Her hands went cold, she clenched and unclenched her fingers around the chopsticks to warm them.

Jin woo started, he didn't understand or rather he didn't want to understand.

He took care of his younger sister for ages, watched her grow, protected her.

But now, a girl even younger was declaring her own death.

"When I die. Extract my shadow?"

His mouth opened but nothing came out, how was he supposed to respond to this?

"Please?"

Alora urged, shifting uncomfortably, she placed the chopsticks down.

'What now?......oh right!'

"I can tell you anything you want, I know many things, outside and inside."

She offered with a smile, the male lead was a cautious person, he had many questions.

No matter what, the system was still an outside force and he couldn't afford to stay ignorant, of course he wouldn't refuse when a golden chance was given to him, she knew.

"...You...why?"

He managed.

".. I'm not useful..."

'Is this...considered emotional manipulation..?'

Alora understood his emotions from his eyes. She looked down at the hot bowl of food, hot steam swirled from the dish and met her face.

But she felt nothing,

Her senses had dulled.

".. useful?"

"To the Absolute beings."

Alora explained.

He tensed at that unfamiliar term, what beings?

"What do you know about the system?"

"What do you wish to know?"

Alora asked, somewhat relieved that he was willing to listen.

"The more the better."

"The system was made to level up...."

She said organising her next words.

"This world would become a battlefield for higher beinges." She started," The mastermind doesn't want that to happen. so here you are..the system will make sure you will stay alive no matter what."

She was something created by the absolute beings, the highest power.

She was naturally outside of some of the mortal shackles. The system could not influence nor disrupt her words and actions, she could do whatever she wanted in this case.

"Just know that you or anyone, won't be harmed by the system. I am not allowed to say more."

It was true, in the end, the shadow monarch decided to make Jin woo his successor not his vessel, nobody was harmed because of the system.

She simply didn't reveal the whole truth, least the story take a different turn. which she didn't want, the protogonist needed to be strong in order to defend this world from outside forces.

Nothing from the original story could be missed.

'We can beat asses together!'

"Why me?"

Jin woo asked, processing her words, this question bugged him for many days, why him? What was necessary requirement to be a player? although he wanted to grow strong, not knowing enough was unsettling.

Alora took a sip of the Coco and smiled faintly, and said the most absurd thing.

"Because you survived many near deaths, and well, I don't know the other reasons."

That's it? Because he had many near death experiences?

'I know it sounds stupid, but you have to bear with it..'

Jin woo thought it over, his eyes narrowing, her words did make sense, the powers he gained, shadow extraction, shadow soldiers or similar ones were related to death in many ways.

It wouldn't take a genius to figure it out, he simply didn't think of this point before.
