Avril is insecure of herself and sees herself as ugly, but often receives advances from guys in her school and she's actually pretty popular in her high school because of her looks and grades, even if no one actually values her or cares about her.
She likes painting, drawing and listening to music, it's something that calms her down and she often draws what she sees in her nightmares.
Her parents are divorced and she's lived with her mother all her life, and she's spoken to her father only twice, they had no contact trough her teenage years, and now that her mother passed away she has to go live with him.
