The Battle has Just Begun Part 4

I see you there sitting smiling outwards,

All friends of mine though some may not know me

We have a similar battle with similar goals

And that is all it needs for us to be in this together, like you and me .

The Parthenon is at you back as a reminder of why we dedicate our time and energy

To this shared battle for marble sculptures, and the reunification of our shared history.

To the Acropolis museum I see them sitting in their greatness and grandeur, all in place

Their true home,so why do we still fight for the rights of stone?  You and me  for this grace?

The right of stone?  No more than this, it is the rights of culture, history, and art as well as truth.

We fight this battle together for all these things to see those stones returned and given truth of place

Not just as trophies  of an old empire to be claimed and swoon over by just the few who state

that they own them and have the legal right to show them in those dark halls without grace or heart.

A response to a call for a poem to help with the Battle to bring the Parthenon Marbles back to Greece and the Acropolis Museum.
