Chapter 12

They meet up at the 'Lost Angels' pub. "Wow! U look wonderful tonight!" Murr compliments. "Thanks!" Winnie blushes. "She moves closer to him to kiss him. "Where's Mr. Gump tonight?" Murr interrupts. "Could we not talk about him? Let's talk about u...u charmer!" Winnie replies, kissing Murr. "No. Let's talk about him! Why're u still with him?" Murr asks. "What's gotten into u?" a confused Winnie asks. "Win, I'm still in love with u & wanna be with u! I wanna kiss u like we kissed yesterday." Murr replies, clasping her hands. "We were gonna kiss, but u just interrupted me, remember?" Winnie reminds him & moves in to kiss him again. Murr stops her. "I wanna kiss u without ur husband finding out about it....about us! Why don't u divorce him?" Murr asks. Winnie breaks down. "He makes my life hell, he beats me when he's really drunk! I really wanna divorce him, but I'm scared for Lithosfera...how it's gonna affect her..." Winnie weeps & Murr consoles her. "I need a drink." Winnie calls out to the bartender. She has way too many drinks & Murr has to carry her home. Back home, the babysitter, Eliza opens the door. "Alright, pay up! I'm heading home!" she pushes her palm into Murr's face. "Ok...here u go!" Murr pulls out his wallet & pays her on behalf of Winnie. "She said she'd pay me extra tonight." Eliza lies & gestures at Winnie. "No, I didn't! I'm drunk, not dumb!" Winnie exclaims. "Don't listen to her, she's drunk!" Eliza cries out. "Scram!" Murr shooes her away. "FYI, u 2 lovebirds can use the upstairs bedroom if u like. I use it all the time to make out with Keith, my b.f. when I'm bored from babysitting her kid!" Eliza confesses. "No, thanks! She's married & her husband might show up at any minute!" Murr replies. "Who cares?! She's gonna divorce him anyway!" Eliza blurts out. "She is?! How do u know?" a surprised Murr asks. "I found the divorce papers on her bedside table. I guess she's too scared to ask him to sign them....or whatever! Ok, I'm off! Goodnight!" Eliza reveals & leaves. Murr tucks Winnie into bed & turns to leave, when she wakes up & grabs his arm. "Wait! I wanna show u something...lie down!" She gestures at the ceiling. "U didn't notice the skylight, did u? C'mon, lie down next to me! Let's stare at the beautiful starry sky for a while!" she pleads with puppy eyes. Murr does as told. "I just love looking at the stars...so peaceful, gorgeous, twinkling little stars...." Winnie gazes at the sky with her bright twinkly eyes. Murr interrupts her by talking about the constellations. She moves closer to him & cuddles up next to him as he talks. "U can't stop talking about constellations, can u?" Winnie asks. "I know all about 'em, after all I'm an astrophyci..." Murr replies, but is interrupted by a passionate kiss from Winnie. They wake up in each other's arms the next morn. "That was better than I imagined!" a blushing Winnie exclaims. "So...was this ur first time, u know...?" Murr asks, anxiously. "Yup!" Winnie replies, excitedly. "What about on ur wedding night? Didn't u...u know?" Murr asks in disbelief. "Nope! Gordon drank too much & passed out before we could do anything!" Winnie reveals. Murr snickers to himself. "Aww...I missed that snicker! So, what's the deal with the Tardis tattoo on ur back?" Winnie gestures as Murr gets dressed. "Oh, that....must be from the night when Dave & I drank too much & got matching Tardis tattoos!" Murr confesses. Suddenly, they hear the front door open. "OMG! Gump's home! Hide!!" Winnie cries out. "Murr calms her. "Relax! Eliza told me everything. I know all about the divorce papers. Just get it over with!" Murr pleads. "I...I can't...I don't want Lithosfera to grow up without her dad around!" a teary eyed Winnie confesses. "U don't want her to grow up with him around either! Besides, she won't grow up without a father. I'm here now!" Murr replies & kisses her forehead. Suddenly, the bedroom door swings open & a drunk Gordon storms in. He's furious when he sees 'em together! "How dare u...?!" he yells & raises his hand to hit her. "No...how dare U?! U think I don't know about ur affair with Patrice?! I've seen u 2 kissing & canoodling!" Winnie interrupts & pushes him away. He steps back,as Murr stares in disbelief. She opens the bedside table drawer , pulls out the papers & tosses them at him. "Sign 'em! We're done! Get outta here!" Winnie yells, angrily. "B...but this is my house!" Gordon protests. "Really? 'Coz I paid for it! Now, sign 'em!" Winnie forces him to sign the papers & then he leaves. She turns towards Murr & hugs him. "Let's get married. I've waited 5 yrs. for u & I'm done waiting!" she demands. "Are u free next week?" Murr asks, smiling.
