Bjorn and Liora returned to the Sleeping Dogs Guild with the bodies of the goblins and the shattered remnants of the nest in tow. The streets leading to the guild were already buzzing with rumors. By the time they pushed through the heavy doors, all eyes turned toward them.
The guild hall was a cacophony of reactions. Some members cheered, impressed by the sheer destruction they’d wrought. Others whispered nervously, fear shadowing their faces. And a few veterans scowled, clearly unsettled by what they had witnessed.
> “Did he… break the mana scale again?” a young recruit whispered to another, eyes wide.
“That’s… insane. He’s no ordinary adventurer,” came the reply, voice tinged with awe.
The guild master, missing eye glinting, leaned back in his chair.
> “Bjorn Tyrfingr, you’ve got power… and a streak of chaos a mile wide. Consider yourself officially noticed.”
A burly veteran stepped forward, arms crossed, his face a mask of suspicion.
> “Notice me all you want, master but if he keeps showing up in missions like this, he’s going to bring more trouble than gold to the guild.”
Liora huffed, flustered but proud.
“He saved the village! And me! You’d all be dead if it weren’t for him!”
A few of the younger members cheered her on, while the veteran merely grunted. The hall’s tension crackled as stories of their battle Bjorn’s lightning storm, Liora’s celestial wards, and the obliteration of the Goblin King spread from mouth to mouth.
Bjorn, for his part, simply leaned against a pillar, arms crossed, eyes scanning the room. He was aware of the admiration, the fear, and the skepticism swirling around him.
“Let them talk,” he muttered to Liora.
“What matters is that the job got done. That’s all that counts.”
Despite the mixed reactions, one thing was clear: whispers of Bjorn Tyrfingr, the storm-born warrior were spreading fast. Some would seek him out for guidance, others would fear him, and a few would quietly start plotting how to challenge him.
For Bjorn, the guild, and the world, this was only the beginning.
