Chapter 16

I could feel my ears began to heat up. It must have been a split second where my masked fell, but it fell nonetheless . The bite mark she gave me began to ache and I could almost feel her again. Flooding my senses making me hot, making me into everything I despise , weak, vulnerable, undisciplined and undignified shell of a boy. I shot back into reality by Jason and his annoying laughter . Steph seems to accompanying him with her snickers.
Jason: " Wow baby bro why so quiet? Did you see something that ruffled your feathers?"
I put Moxie down letting her scatter to where ever she's off to. I give Jason and Steph a glare exiting the room with their mockery behind me. I need to calm myself down , it was getting to hot in there. I step towards the kitchen to go find some breakfast. Whatever I was feeling before must be due to the lack of food in my stomach, working out with out properly eating before must have made me lightheaded and delirious. Yea, that what it must be...

I step into the kitchen and stiffen when walking upon Kory and Dick still in their pj's. They were cuddled up on the island kitchen bench giggling and snickering to each other. The sight was nauseating. I find displays of affections disgusting, mother taught me the most useful assassins learn to forget to how to feel any if notall their emotions. She trained me to be a weapon , to think of myself nothing more than the  extension  of the job.  My family has since then taught me emotions are part of being human and I've come a long way accepting the fact. It's just intimacy and the idea of love is still weird and something I still deem unnecessary. I care for my family sure but undying love where you would do anything for one sole person, willing to lay it all down for them not caring what happens to you. Why would you want to that? It cant't be as intense as that?Can it? Kory Anders, hero name (Starfire) is Dick's girlfriend. She's from a different planet called Tamaran, she has long floor length red fiery curly hair and is slightly talker than Dick. You would think with how big Dick's ego is that would bother him, but he doesn't care his absolutely infatuated with her. He admires the very ground she walks on.  It's not just him whether it's Jason and Artemis, Tim and Bernard , Duke and Robina or even my farther who's the untouchable Batman with my soon to be step mom Selina Kyle. They found themselves people who they would do anything for. While you can have a love for your friends and family they say finding a love where you find the missing piece of yourself is the sole purpose in life. I don't feel too quite eager to find such said missing piece, but there's nothing much I can do with my family's romances. They're technically part of the family and will be my soon brother and sisters' in law. 🤷🏻

I ignore Kory and Dick talking about there next upcoming mission and make my way to the brunch table Alferd must have set out earlier this morning. I grabbed myself a slice  of toast and poured  myself a cup of black coffee savouring its bitter taste. This is exactly what I needed, my head feels more clear now. I've come to the conclusion that it's just my sense of justice that aggravates me so much about Jinx, once we catch her and her friends she'll leave my thoughts and these weird sensations I've been feeling of late will stop. And just on time  I receive a text in the family group chat stating everyone should meet in the bat cave they've uncovered the girls identities. Absolutely splendid. Couldn't have come at a more perfect time. I see Kory and Dick make their way to the elevator. I on the other hand use the fire pole route , I don't want to be stuck in there with those two.

I landed on the second floor of the cave and see the others stroll out the elevator. Bruce is standing in front of the monitor with Tim sitting in the computer chair. Jason is leaning off a wall, while Steph is sitting at the meeting table facing the screen. Dick and Kory are standing in front, near the monitor. I know Duke is in class right now and Babs is at her apartment , but we're missing one more person. Cass then sneaks up behind me tapping my shoulder in attempt to scare me. She flashes me a sly grin, my older sister adores trying to catch me by surprise. It's a game we have trying to see who's more skilled at concealing their presence. It didn't work this time.
"Nice try Cass you need to be quicker than that to scare me."
Cass: "I'll get you when you least expect it Daim's"
"I highly doubt that but you can try." I sheepishly state
Bruce then lets out a cough to gather everyone's attention. Bruce: "If you all could make your way to the monitor , we can begin the briefing of the girls identities."
I jump from the second floor railing , Cass follows my lead and stands next to me while all our attention is direct to the screen. Tim seems, nervous which is unusual for him. Jason appears quite lax probably not taking this as serious as he should. Kory, Dick, Cass, and Steph seem quite intrigued. While Bruce has his unreadable expression on.   Bruce: "First I want everyone to save their comments for after we've seen their id's. Agreed?"
Everyone: "Agreed."
Then their ideas popped up onto the screen and nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see.
