Chapter 14

Steph: " He becomes such a pain  like a bitter old lady 😩 "

"That's one way of putting it."

We make our way through the house and take the elevator down to cave. There I see everyone gathered around at the meeting table and Jason with his feet on the table harbouring a no nonsense face and angry scowl. Bruce is sitting at the head while Selina occupied the seat on his right while Dick was on his left. Cass sat further down next to  Duke.  Babs sat next to Alfred who seemed done pouring everyone's coffee. Tim wore shades while hooked on an Ivy drip. That hangover must be killing him about now. Steph takes a seat next to Jason while I sit at the end. The atmosphere is tense , not the usual goofy vibes that surrounds us when we gather.

Jason: " Took you guys long enough!"

Steph: "Oh come on we're not that late."

Tim: "Why are you yelling my head feels like it's about to split in two here."

Babs: " That's what happens when you finish 3 bottle's of tequila."

Tim: "Ugh don't remind me I'm never drinking again."🥱

Duke: " Good but the photos of you from last night aren't going away. My favourite is definitely you thinking you can fly and face planting into the pool."

Selina: "Now that's something I didn't expect from you Tim.(giggles)"

Tim : "Come on Duke not cool."

Duke: "Don't blame me . Babs is the one who took it."

Babs: "You snitch, I'll get you back for that."😮

Duke: "Deal with it.😝"

Bruce: "Ahem. If you could please all focus on task at hand. I was updated on the situation but we still need to figure who the individuals are."

Dick: "Right also who they were working for  because they probably targeted us due the Wayne family name rather than the fact we're all linked to Batman."

Cass: " I can't believe we got out done by regular citizens."

Jason: "Oh hell no those girls are not regular in anyway possible there insane."

Bruce: " I just want to double check the facts is there any security footage ?"

Dick: "No it seems like they used a jamming device too conceal there presence."

Bruce: " Those things are the penguin's specialty though, what bothers me is, he was sent back to Arkham  a week ago."

"We raided his hideout of all his gadgets , there shouldn't be any left." I state.

Selina: "How strange..."

Steph: " How did you guys let them get away?'

Jason then stands up and points a finger at Steph.

Jason: " YOU TRY DEALING WITH WHAT WE WENT THROUGH." "The fucking  hose attack, the rock-throwing, Alfred nearly drowning, or the fact that mini-demon here got kissed mid-fight and LET HER WALK AWAY?"

I snap hearing what Jason said. But against my better judgment I think back to how her mouth tasted of lemon and vodka  and a hint of passion fruit. " She did not walk away. She escaped through underhanded theatrics. And that—" ( I  glare at Jason) "—was not a kiss. It was a diversionary tactic."

Stephanie: (grinning) "Mmhmm. That's what they all say when someone bites their lip and makes them blush."

Cass: (smirks silently, then points at my  lips, then mimes a kiss with her hand. Jason bursts out laughing.) suddenly I don't feel bad about the barf incident anymore.

" Silence." I yell. It was nothing more than dirty trick . But my word the way her waist fit perfectly into my hands, I wanted to pull her in closer and trace every inch of her skin. No. No no I can't be thinking such things she's the devil in disguise Damian. Come back down to Earth.

Jason: " AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON ONE OF THEM THROWING UP ON ME." "Dang that shit smelled horrible I had to take 3 showers but I can still smell it."

Duke: " Yea you do stink."

Jason: "Shut up man!"

Bruce: "  Now everyone calm down. Do we know the names of these girls."

Jason: " I think the one who barfed on me name is  Rachel."

Alfred: " I recall the individual that drowned me and kept inappropriately flirting with me is named Tiffany."

Dick: " Now that leaves the ring leader the one who shot the limo tires and the garden statue'

"Her name is Jinx." I state

Cass: " Already know your future girlfriend's name."🧐

"For the last time I don't like her." I roll my eyes while saying. I'm glad my family can find my pain amusing .🙄

Steph: " Then why haven't you wiped her lipstick off you yet."

"I simply didn't know I had any on me , that's all"

Selina: "Honestly, I like them."

(All eyes snap to her.)

Selina: "What? They've got style. Flair. Boldness. Reminds me of someone I know and old friend ." ( she gives Bruce a pointed look)

Jason: (snorts) "More like reminds me of Joker."

Tim: (mumbles half-asleep) "...reminds me I hate tequila."

Tim: " I'll look them up after, the room stops spinning."

Bruce: " Right the rest of you finish cleaning up,  while I deal with the press."

"Meeting adjourned.

We all exit the bat cave to finish the cleaning . It's currently 4: 30 am when where done. I get dressed for bed. I change into my sleep shorts and take my top off. I jump into bed letting my body hit the covers like a rock. My lip still stings from the bite and I haven't washed my face yet but I'll shower in the morning. I lick my lips in attempt to remove her lipstick  of me, it taste sweet. I can still feel her lips pressed against me. I wonder why she kissed me in order to escape? Does she kiss every guy she gets in trouble with. This bite mark is a stupid reminder of how she got away. It stains my skin and I hate  it. I close my eyes trying to drift off into sleep. My mind scatters to a certain laughter and the whispers of her defiant  ' Ya promise.' A dangerous curiosity begins to burn in my chest and before I know it I'm fast asleep.

- Hi I won't be posting for a couple days. But don't worry I won't disappear for 7 months again. It will be 2 days max. I just have certain scheduling conflicts that prevent me from posting the next 2 parts. Ok bye
