PJ and Chris smiled and Phil turned from his wardrobe, and to make his bed.

"Do you think Dan's gonna be at the playground today?" Phil asked hopefully.

PJ nodded, "Oh yeah, defiantly." Phil put on a confident smile as he finished making his bed, and went out the door to go eat.

Dan was by far Phil's best friend. He would cheer Phil on at Crash Bandicoot, and make Phil laugh at when he thought he couldn't. Dan had been there when no one, even PJ or Chris, had been there No on, real or imaginary, could replace Dan. That was certain.

"PJ, should I wear this shirt today? I think it looks quite ravishing on me." Chris gloated from behind as Phil went in to the kitchen with his mother.

"Morning Philly." She greeted as she sat a plate of slightly burnt pancakes with maple syrup.

"Morning mum." Phil said happily as he dug into the pancakes. Once he was done, his mother took his plate and washed it for him. Usually, she wouldn't, but today was different. He looked happier and more excited than usual. And she was willing to keep him in a good mood as long as he didn't act up.

"Okay Philly, we better get going so you're not late." His mother declared, noticing that he already had his backpack and shoes on. "Someone's excited today." She grinned. Usually, she had to tell him multiple times to get his shoes and his backpack, and even more to get him in the car. But, for some odd reason, he was unusually giddy.

The ride to school was quiet, but comfortable. After a short five minute drive (that would have been much longer by foot), they arrived at the primary school.

West Hill Primary School was an old red brick building. There were only a few windows, and they were all dirty. So dirty that if someone tried to look out of them, they would only get a blurred image. Phil knew that, as everyday he looked outside, letting his imagination run wild.

"C'mon Philly, the bell's about to ring." His mother began to pull him along by his hand, as he walked behind her. As they entered the building, Phil squeezed his mums hand. He was anxious, not for only today but everyday. She knew this, so she squeezed back. The only time she let go of his hand was to let him go off to his class.

"Okay Phil, I'll be back to pick you up later, okay?" She asked caringly with a smile.

Phil nodded hesitantly, but only after the bell rang, causing a teacher to come out a yell at him. Before he left, Phil smiled at his mother one last time before she left, and he ran to his classroom.

It was only a short walk to the classroom.

Phil knocked on the door that was promptly opened. Inside, were multiple children sitting at long tables with pencils in their hands. At the front of the class was a tall woman with a book in her hand. The woman had a soft heart shaped face that was framed by brown curls.

"Goodmorning Phillip." She greeted, setting the book down on her desk. "Im glad you could make it this morning." She wrote his name down in the 'tardie' section. "Please take your seat."

Phil nodded, and started to make his way to the back of the classroom where there was a halfway empty table he took a seat away from the other children, and sat down his bag on the back of his chair.

"Please get out a piece of paper and a pencil, we're taking down notes for our upcoming test." Phil did what his teacher told him, and started his day in school.

It was only at lunch when a boy approached him.

Lunch meant there was only one more hour until recess, and that made Phil excited. Even the silence of eating alone did not stop him from feeling a bit excited.

"Hey, why are you sitting alone?" A voice asked as Phil was about to bit into his peanut butter and jelly sandwich. When he looked up, he was surprised with who he saw.

He saw bright green eyes and blonde hair in two braids.

Ella Worth.

"Hey Ella..." He muttered, looking back at his sandwich. "What are you doing here?"

She giggled. "I'm just checking on you silly. You looked a little lonely." Ella sat down next to Phil on the floor.

"I'm fine." He lied.

Ella smiled, seeing threw his lie, but not saying anything about it.

She got up, brushing off her skirt. "Well, I was wondering if you wanted to come over and sit with me and friends. You would like them."

Phil thought about it, he would like to sit at a table instead of on the floor. After a moment of hesitation, he nodded. "Sure."

"Phil, these are my friends." Ella smiled as they approached the table.

It was only a small group, but it was okay. From what Ella had told him, there was Zoe, a really short girl with bright blue eyes, Joe, Zoe's younger brother, Louise, an older blonde girl, and finally, Troye, an exchange student from Australia.

That was how Phil met his new long time friends.

But that was a good thing and a bad thing.

He had friends, real ones, to talk to every day and interact with.

But, the only downside was his imaginary friends weren't needed anymore, so they started to disappear.

So welcome to my first phan-fiction! Don't worry, this is only the very beginning. I just needed to give a little bit of back story before we began, so here it is. The next part is going to take place in the present, so look forward to that. :D
