The constant vibration of the phone didn't disturb anybody, all drowned in their own worlds. The screen showed the name 'Kang Sooyong', before going to voice-mail. Now the screen shows 45 missed calls.
The owner of the costly phone was simply sipping his tea. His three piece luxury suit stood out in the local area, but there weren't many people nearby to notice it.
Settling the half empty cup down, Sung Hyunjae rests his chin on his palms. Golden irises scans around, trying and failing to catch something of intrest. He sighs heavily.
Since a few days ago, the actor felt like he's in the wrong body. It felt as if he wasn't supposed to be this young, including the people around him. He felt as if the people who aren't supposed to be here is here and the ones who should be isn't. Everything felt so wrong for him, yet for the others nothing was.
The past few days felt like he had already lived it, but had to live it again with no memories. Everything, the award nominations, meeting people, movie opportunities, parties...it all felt so familiar. So familiar that it started to be boring after the period of feeling wierded out passed. Everything felt so repetitive.
Sung Hyunjae was a man who gets bored a lot. He was also a man who tends to do whatever he wants. Thus he started messing up parties, annoying everybody and making impulsive decisions. Which he was doing now, ditching the meeting that was scheduled with a renowned director who would be starting a new movie series. He could see that his secretary was very panicked, judging by the number of missed calls. But he didn't feel an ounce of pity for her.
Sooyong had been dealing with him for long enough by now. She should know that he's always like this. She's competent enough to do her job right. If the director's proposal is good enough, Sung Hyunjae might think of accepting it. No matter how famous the director is, he won't be able to do anything for the disrespect shown by the actor. And even if the offer slips away, it isn't like Sung Hyunjae isn't a world wide known actor, also being one of the richest person in the world and having multiple businesses under his name. Opportunities come to him too easily.
So he continues to ignore his secretary's calls, trying to find something to brighten up his mundane life. But everybody passing by is either ogling at his looks, or just straight out ignoring him for they're too immersed in their daily activities. Though he was entertained by the arguing couple sitting in the next table in the beginning, he lost intrest when they started to get all lovey dovey. The waitress recognized him, but he charmed her enough to keep her mouth shut. The tea wasn't half bad either.
Nobody was providing any entertainment for him and he was tempted to blow something up. Sighing, the blonde man was about to pick up his half empty cup again that he hears the bell to the cafe jingle. Throwing a small glance back, a man wearing a worn out black jacket and blue jeans appears. He wore a cap to cover his face.
He was so out of place with his cheap old clothes in the expensive cafe that Hyunjae kept on glancing at him. The man looks around the place, locks eyes with Hyunjae from afar and walks towards him.
The blonde turns around and continues to sip his tea. It might have been a fan who saw him through the window and came for an autograph. It was a hassle, but he decides to have a little fun toying with the fan.
But surprising the actor, the man snatches the cup of half filled tea and splashes it on his face.
Out of reflex, Hyunjae puts his gloved hands over his face in defense. It doesn't get to his eyes, but a little of his face, most of his hair and his cream colored coat is now drenched with hot tea.
Hyunjae is stunned, for the first time in weeks. Was this a hater instead of a fan?
"Son of a bitch!!! I'll fucking kill you!!!"
He lowers his arms and reveals his face dripping with tea, meeting eyes with the man. The face hidden under the shadow of the cap could be seen clearly now that he's closer, and it somehow felt familiar.
Golden eyes meets brown ones. Now the latter seemed surprised too.
Sung Hyunjae's lips quirk up. Forgetting about the burns his face might have in the future and the hot boiling tea staining his coat worth millions, the actor gives a dazzling smile that was worth even more
"Such a wonderful way to greet a person."
