Giovanni's POV
☺︎☺︎☺︎
The boy arrived and broke the kiss I was beginning to enjoy too much.
Curse him.
Since when have you ever not cursed anyone?
Shut up.
She had to get up from my lap which threw a permanent pout on my lips and made her laugh.
It wasn't funny.
I missed her warm body. I missed the softness and how small it is.
Now she's busy with talking to a fucking boy who I'm sure wasn't even listening.
I mean he has his eyes everywhere but at the book.
By everywhere I meant her lips.
Idiot thinks I didn't notice. I pulled her closer to me by the loop of her skirt and wrapped my arms around her.
"Gio, I'm trying to study here. " I rolled my eyes.
"I don't care. " and I was being serious.
"Ryan, we'll have to continue tomorrow at school, my break's almost over. " she said and I grew happier.
Luckily for me, the boy arrived ten minutes late and they only had twenty minutes to finish so she'd use the last ten to eat.
She didn't want to eat until I forced her to.
"Oh, okay. " they started rounding up.
He picks his bag and after a goodbye he leaves.
"You were being impossible Gio. " I shrugged then leaned down to kiss her again.
I really didn't care that I hated oranges and I could taste it when I kissed her.
That was the least of my problems right now.
We got up and started making our way out of the library.
"Gio, you didn't let me finish my question earlier. " I raised a brow at her in confusion.
"What job do you do? " she asks.
We were walking towards the nearby coffee shop because, she said and I quote, "After this lesson you're gonna go try Boba with me. "
"I work in a SWAT team, love. " I replied and her eyes widened.
Common reaction.
"Oh my gosh, so what. You like, shoot guns and kill bad guys right? Do you kill or catch them? " she sounded excited and it made me somewhat happy to be in my job.
"Both." I replied her question as we both walked into the coffee shop.
"Wow, that's just wow. I wish I was bad butt like you. " I laughed at her language.
She says butt instead of ass.
Freaking or freak instead of fucking and fuck.
Then poo instead of shit.
"What else do you do in the job Gio? " she seemed genuinely interested.
"Um, manage situations with high risk weapons, like bombs. Or attend to terrorist attacks. " I replied.
She got me a regular chocolate milk tea and got herself matcha strawberry something milk tea and some cakes.
"Isn't that too dangerous? " her voice shimmered down a little.
"Yeah but I'm still alive. " she smacked my arm at the comment.
"Don't say that Gio, Karma might come to kick you in the butt because of that statement and I don't know about you but I can't live without having someone to bully or taste my lip gloss for me or grumble when I call them baby Gio or roll his eyes when I offer him ice cream and Boba or say some poo about someone, I'm talking about you by the way. " she rambles.
We sat down next to each other in a random booth and started eating.
"Now take it back, say I'm thankful to be alive. " she adds.
"I'm thankful to be alive. " I smirked at her.
She might have not known yet but she just confessed on how she couldn't stay without me if I'm gone.
And I'm not even trying to deny it at this point, I can't stay without hearing her blabbering about some weird shit or something. Or her hugs or her smell or the taste of her lips and the feel of her body..., or her laughs.
I can't live without all of them.
"Gio! " she snapped her fingers at me. "I was saying, when are we going to the beach? I mean I just got this cute swimsuit and I haven't even put it in good use yet. " she asks.
"Whenever you feel like it. " she feels like doing a different thing every second so I can't really answer that question.
"Okay." She starts eating.
After eating we walked back to the library where I watched her work until it started growing darker. She got her money then we walked out of the library and towards my car.
"To the grocery shop Gio. " she giggles and I smile at the sound.
"Gio? " she starts again.
"Yes? "
"Don't be surprised or anything but I think you need a little colour in your life. " I just rolled my eyes at the everyday insult.
Or profession of love as she calls it.
"We can start with your car, it's too black. " she adds.
"No."
"Figured." We arrived at the grocery shop and after more than an hour of walking behind her running self we got out with the bought goods.
I paid for it by the way, she said and I quote, "I'm not supposed to be paying for this Gio, you're my baby daddy...or is it sugar daddy? I've forgotten. But either one, it means I'm your responsibility and so is this, because it's my responsibility but now that I'm your responsibility-"
"I'll pay. " I just had to cut her off if not, she'll be confusing herself, me and the register lady.
"How's the mini shopping baby Gio? " the name.
"I don't know. " I act like I don't like talking when I actually don't hate it — I don't like talking but I don't hate it is what I mean — but the other reason is because I'd rather much hear her speak instead.
I dropped her off at the house.
"Goodnight baby Gio, don't forget to check the monsters under your bed and cover your body properly or you'll get cold feet and the monsters will drag you for some ritual or something. Just be careful okay, I'm not going to be around to save you. " I nodded and she leaned up and kissed me.
I kissed her back and waited till she pulled away herself. She waved goodnight at me then walked into the house.
I was beginning to know the reason why my heart kept skipping whenever she was around me.
...because I like her.
