From that day on, Seokjin couldn't help but notice a figure lurking outside the college campus, always wearing a mask that obscured his features. But there was something about the way he stood, the way he moved, that seemed eerily familiar.
Lisa and Ken walked alongside Seokjin, chatting and laughing, oblivious to the masked figure. But Seokjin's eyes kept drifting towards him, his heart skipping a beat as he caught glimpses of those piercing eyes and distinctive eyebrows.
Even with the mask, Seokjin felt a shiver run down his spine every time their eyes met. He couldn't quite explain it, but he felt like he was being watched, like the masked figure knew him better than he knew himself.
As the days went by, Seokjin found himself looking forward to catching glimpses of the mysterious figure, his curiosity piqued by the enigmatic presence that seemed to surround him like a shadow.
One day Seokjin was going home alone, as Ken and Lisa had to stay back in the college for their project finishing. As usual, Seokjin noticed Jungkook at the college entrance. He stole a glance at him as he walked. Jungkook suddenly came in front of him.
Seokjin became startled. Jungkook grabbed Seokjin's hand softly. Seokjin looked up at him and then suddenly dropped his gaze, feeling shy. Jungkook, with a soft smile, walked towards his bike, holding Seokjin's hand. Seokjin followed, confused about where Jungkook was taking him, but he didn't complain, feeling a strange sense of safety with this stranger.
Jungkook hopped onto his bike and gestured for Seokjin to get on behind him. Seokjin looked at him nervously, hesitating for a moment. Jungkook noticed Seokjin's nervousness and said in a comforting way, "You are safe with me, don't worry. I just want to talk."
Seokjin's heart fluttered at those words, and with a sigh, he hopped onto the bike. As he settled in, Seokjin nervously shifted in his seat, unsure of what to do. Jungkook, with a smirk, said, "You can hold onto me."
Seokjin's face flushed, and he flustered, "I-I'm fine," but Jungkook's raised eyebrow made him reconsider. "Okay, okay," Seokjin muttered, reaching out to hold onto Jungkook's shoulder.
"Good," Jungkook said, his voice low and amused. "Don't want you falling off."
Seokjin's grip tightened, his fingers digging slightly into Jungkook's jacket. "I won't," he said softly, his voice barely audible over the sound of the engine.
Jungkook chuckled and started the bike, pulling out of the college parking lot and onto the road. "Relax, Seokjin," he said, his voice carried back on the wind.
After handing over the helmet to Seokjin, Jungkook took them to the sea. As they reached the coast, Jungkook parked the bike and got off. He walked ahead, his footsteps leading towards the shoreline. Seokjin followed closely, silently, his eyes fixed on Jungkook's back as the sea breeze rustled his hair.
The sound of the waves crashing against the shore filled the air, and Seokjin felt a sense of calm wash over him. Jungkook stopped at the water's edge, gazing out at the vast expanse of the sea. Seokjin stood beside him, mirroring his gaze, and together they stood there in comfortable silence.
Jungkook turned to Seokjin and asked, "Do you know why I brought you here?"
Seokjin's voice was barely above a whisper as he replied, "No."
Jungkook took a deep breath, his eyes locked onto Seokjin's, and said, "Do you know that I'm interested in you?"
Seokjin's heart skipped a beat. He had picked up on signals, but hearing the confession directly from Jungkook's lips left him speechless. Shock washed over him, and he stared at Jungkook, his mind racing as he struggled to process his emotions. The world around him seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, suspended in this moment of truth.
Jungkook removed his mask, revealing his chiseled features. Seokjin's eyes widened, and he couldn't help but admire Jungkook even more. Jungkook's smile softened, and he reached out to gently cup Seokjin's cheeks. Seokjin flinched slightly at the sudden touch, but he didn't pull away.
As they locked eyes, Jungkook's voice was low and husky as he confessed, "Seokjin, from the moment I saw you, I couldn't stop thinking about you. You're all I can see now. I want to be with you, to get to know you better. I want to spend more time with you."
Jungkook's eyes held a hint of seriousness as he added, "Before you get your answer, you have to know about me."
Seokjin's expression turned confused, and Jungkook gently took Seokjin's hands in his. "My name is Jungkook," he said softly.
Seokjin's lips barely moved as he repeated, "Jungkook," his voice barely above a whisper.
Jungkook's smile faltered for a moment, and his voice took on a hint of vulnerability as he continued, "And also I am an orphan."
Seokjin's eyes searched Jungkook's face, his expression softening in response to Jungkook's words.
Jungkook's eyes locked onto Seokjin's, his voice taking on a grave tone as he revealed, "And....and I- I work as a mafia."
Seokjin's eyes widened in shock, his face pale. Jungkook's hands returned to Seokjin's cheeks, his touch gentle but firm.
"I don't want to hide anything from you," Jungkook said, his voice laced with sincerity. "You have to know, I am not a good person. I do a lot of crimes, I worked for a man... but my feelings for you are genuine."
Seokjin's mind reeled as he processed Jungkook's words, his heart torn between the intensity of Jungkook's gaze and the danger that lurked beneath his surface.
Jungkook's eyes locked onto Seokjin's, his voice taking on a reassuring tone as he said, "You don't have to be scared of me because I will never hurt you or your loved ones. I will always protect you."
Seokjin's expression was a mix of emotions, his eyes searching Jungkook's face for answers. Jungkook's voice remained gentle, but with a hint of understanding, as he continued, "After knowing everything, if you want to back off, then it's okay. I said all of this because I don't want you to regret your choice."
Jungkook's words hung in the air, leaving Seokjin to weigh his feelings against the reality of Jungkook's world. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore seemed to fade into the background as Seokjin's gaze remained fixed on Jungkook's face, searching for a glimmer of what lay ahead.
Seokjin took a step back, breaking free from Jungkook's gentle hold. His voice was measured as he said, "I want some time."
Jungkook's expression remained calm, his eyes understanding, as he nodded slightly. "Take all the time you need," he said softly.
The air between them seemed to grow heavier, filled with unspoken words and uncertain futures. Jungkook's hands dropped to his sides, and he stood still, giving Seokjin the space he needed. Seokjin turned, his eyes gazing out at the sea, as he struggled to process the weight of Jungkook's confession and the secrets he had revealed.
Jungkook dropped Seokjin near his house, the bike coming to a gentle stop. Seokjin quickly got off, his movements swift and decisive. Without looking back, he walked rapidly towards his house, his figure disappearing from Jungkook's view as he entered the doorway.
Jungkook watched Seokjin's retreating figure with a faint smile on his lips. His eyes lingered on the doorway, even after Seokjin had vanished from sight. The smile hinted at a mix of hope and resignation, as Jungkook put the bike in gear and drove away into the night, the sound of the engine fading into the distance.
