Chapter 3: Beyond Human part 1

Compared to the rest of my arm, the cell density had about doubled, meaning that it's the same as natural healing, but faster.

This was revolutionary.

A lot of healing procedures in hospitals still rely on human regeneration, but this discovery meant that any form of recovery could be accelerated to insane degrees.

I thought about the multitude of ways this could be used. Accelerating muscle growth for exercise, much faster rehabilitations, it could probably even restore lost limbs considering how fast it was.

My mind raced.

I saw the concrete walls of the basement, walked up to it, formed a fist, and punched it as hard as I could.

It hurt.

A lot.

I was winching.

Blood dripped on the floor.

Then, I channeled kurota to my hand, and the bleeding stopped.

I ran more kurota through, and the wound closed, and it no longer hurt.

I let out a big smile.

The next day, I had put together a little training regime for myself.

The general gist of it was breaking my muscle and bones, and then repairing them with kurota over and over again.

For my arms I would do push-ups, and then I would punch the basement walls.

For my legs, wall kicks, and a one to two hours sprint-which doubled as extreme cardio after I realized I could apply kurota to my heart and lungs in the same way, or just do it to my whole body at once.

It took a toll on my body.

This regime hurts, and burns an absurd amount of calories. Meaning, I had to increase the amount of food I eat.

I did this every single morning before work. And every night, I would walk around the neighborhood, collecting demons for my experiments.

I did this every day. Pushing myself further and further. Fatigue was out of the question, and blood could easily be recovered.

Two weeks passed.

I was hitting my concrete walls again-it no longer hurt to do so. I was dripping in sweat, and my hands and legs were bleeding and full of scratches.

Then, I delivered a hard blow to the wall, causing it to finally crack. I gasped for air as I repaired my bruises and broken bones.

I walked to the bathroom, and took a hot refreshing shower.

I then looked in to the mirror to see my progress.

I barely recognized myself.

Scars and scratches covered every inch of my body. My muscles had grown an obscene amount-not much in size, but definitely in density.

I also grew slightly taller.

My eye bags had disappeared, my facial features had changed somewhat.

There was a development I hadn't expected.

A weird shape-like symbol had appeared in my right eye.

I wondered what that was.

It had the appearance of a diamond shape. It's top and bottom corners touched the edge of my irises.

People at the hospital had also noticed these changes-I could tell that they had, but none of them had spoken up to me about it.

Not even Sakura.
