A few days after...

I have discovered a lot more about this power since the first time I started using it. It has some very interesting properties.

Much like the demons they're derived from, the tendrils that I can manifest are entirely invisible to other people. Also, Kurota could be used to do things other than just making those tendrils. It can enhance bodily functions, resulting in increased strength, speed, and thought process. It can also be used to power a type of telekinesis, though the tendrils pretty much does the same thing.

The demons have also started becoming way less of a threat. Now, I could kill them with even batting an eyelid. I used this new disparity, to covertly eliminate any demon that crosses my path. Whether that's when I'm busy at work, or chatting with friends at night, all I have to do is stab my tendrils at them, and they'd die instantly.

An interesting thing I noticed is how demons are absolutely everywhere in hospitals. I also see them gather in cemeteries, certain schools, and anywhere there's a gloomy atmosphere. Through this, I deduced that demons love the negative emotions of people, and swarm places where those emotions are of abundance. Of course, that's just a theory of mine.

My curiosity about Kurota however, is far from over. Desperate for more knowledge, one night, I decided to hunt for a demon, to keep. The hope, is that doing experiments on a living subject could help me understand what demons are, and how they operate, which could, in turn, help me figure out the properties of Kurota.

One night after work, while driving my way home, I discovered the perfect subject. A demon, not too big, not too small. Perfect. It resisted, obviously, it is still a "living" creature after all. I subdued it, without killing it, and brought it home with me. I dropped the demon in my basement lab, and I'm now the proud owner of a new demon pet.

Time for some experiments.

This demon had quite the number of limbs.

The first thing I did, was rip out one of its arms, hoping it wouldn't disappear, but it did. Hmm. Then I noticed the arm growing back on the demon.

Ohh.

To some this might've seemed obvious, but regeneration that fast is entirely impossible to normal living beings. Maybe...

I grabbed my scalpel, in the hopes of dissecting this demon, and see its internals for myself. But the scalpel went straight through the husk of the demon, seemingly not touching the demon.

I see.

Demons are incorporeal to a certain extent. Physical objects don't interact with them normally.

Hmm?

Then, how was my knife able to cut through those other demons?

Perhaps my knife is special?

Seems unlikely.

Maybe those demons were unique?

Sigh.

I don't know enough to assume anything. For now, I'll just figure out how to dissect this demon.

I start by infusing some Kurota in the the scalpel.

Wait? How would you even do that?

Looks like this going to be more tedious than I thought.

I experimented through the night with random objects around the lab, while keeping the demon from escaping, which turned out to be more difficult than I thought.

Eventually, I managed to imbue enough Kurota to an object for it to start interacting with the demon.

It was coffee mug.
