The air inside Black Bloom was thicker than before.
Not with smoke. Not with scent. With silence.
Y/N stood frozen near the doorway, her heartbeat echoing inside her skull. Jungkook hadn't moved since he spoke—since he confessed she had once chosen to forget him.
"You erased me," she repeated, like if she said it enough times, it would stop being true.
He nodded, slow and heavy. "You asked me to."
"Why would I ever ask for something like that?"
"You were scared. You weren't just being hunted—you were becoming someone you didn't want to be." He paused. "And you said you'd rather forget everything than lose control."
A chill ran through her spine.
The worst part?
Some part of her believed him.
⸻
She walked past him slowly, eyes scanning the walls of the studio like they might hold answers. Sketches lined every surface—half-finished faces, bleeding roses, wolves with human eyes, and again... that damn crescent moon.
"I don't remember any of this," she whispered.
"You will."
"I'm not sure I want to."
He turned to her, voice low. "Then why did you come back?"
Y/N looked at him. At his ink-stained hands, his tense jaw, the storm behind his eyes. His presence wasn't just magnetic—it was gravitational.
Like the closer she got to him, the harder it would be to ever leave again.
"I don't know," she lied.
And he smiled like he knew better.
⸻
Jungkook walked to a locked cabinet in the back. Y/N followed him, curiosity outweighing her fear for just a moment.
He unlocked it and pulled out a sealed metal box.
Inside?
Photos.
Hundreds of them. Old, faded. Some in color, some in black-and-white. Most were of people with tattoos—some on their arms, some on their backs. Every single person had one thing in common.
The crescent moon.
Jungkook handed her one photo.
It was of her.
Not recent—this was older. Her hair was shorter. Her eyes less guarded. She stood outside Black Bloom, wearing a leather jacket and a haunted look.
"This was the last time you came," Jungkook said quietly.
Y/N stared. "How many times have I come back?"
He paused.
"Six."
She felt dizzy.
"How did I never remember?"
"The ink can do many things," he said. "It can reveal. It can protect. And sometimes... it can hide."
⸻
They stood in silence for a long moment.
The storm outside cracked. Thunder echoed through the studio, shaking the glass slightly.
And then—
"Why do I feel like you're the only person I trust, even though I shouldn't?" she whispered.
Jungkook's gaze didn't flinch. "Because part of you already knows me. Deeper than memory."
She stepped closer.
He didn't back away.
"What else did we have?" she asked. "Before you erased it."
Jungkook's breath caught. His eyes flicked to her lips, then to her eyes again. "Everything."
And when she reached up—just barely touching the side of his face—he leaned into her hand like it was something sacred.
"You said you loved me," he said.
Her chest tightened.
"And I said it back."
Y/N's eyes burned. "Why does that feel real?"
"Because love isn't just stored in memory," Jungkook murmured, voice deep and low. "It lives in the body."
⸻
He leaned in, slow. Careful. His lips hovered just above hers, breath warming her skin, waiting for permission she didn't know how to give.
So she gave it without words.
She closed the space between them.
The kiss was slow—tentative, then consuming. Like a dam breaking open after being held back for years. His hands slid into her hair, mouth moving against hers with a familiarity that felt ancient. Her body knew him. Her pulse knew him.
It wasn't just kissing.
It was remembering.
⸻
When they broke apart, breathless and trembling, Y/N rested her forehead against his.
"Why does this feel like a goodbye?" she whispered.
Jungkook didn't answer.
Because outside the studio, the storm raged.
And someone stood across the street, hidden in the shadows, watching them through the rain.
