Chapter 34 Complicated

"You better not." I said and pouted and he chuckled.

Suddenly one of Keifer's helpers came inside.

"Sir, one of your friends is here." She said to Keifer and bowed her head down.

"Yeah, let him come inside." Keifer said to her and she nodded and left.

Yuri entered inside with frustration visible on his face.

What the hell happened between them??

"Hey Yuri, what's up?" I asked but just smiled in return.

"Jay, I wanna talk to Keifer..privately. Can you-"

"Yeah, sure. I was about to leave." I cut Yuri off and smiled.

I need to see Sophia in the cafe. I need to know her side. I left Keifer's place and though he offered to drop me, I denied. I want him to be with Yuri.

I think these lovebirds need to confess now.

Keifer's POV

I sat on the couch of my room, watching as Yuri paced back and forth in front of me. He looked nervous, which wasn't like him at all. I was still waiting for him to say something.

What's going on between him and Sophia?

"Dude, what's going on?" I asked, setting my phone aside.

Yuri stopped pacing and turned to face me. "I need to tell you something." he said, his voice low and serious.

"Okay, what's up?"

Yuri took a deep breath. "I think I might be in love with Sophia." he said, the words tumbling out of his mouth.

Huhhh!! Finally!! Finally my bro accepted!!

"Sophia?" I repeated.

Yuri nodded, looking anxious. "I know she's had feelings for you, Keifer, but I think she might feel the same way about me. It's just...she doesn't seem to realize it yet."

"What makes you think she likes you?" I asked, curious.

Though I know he totally liked her from the beginning and she was her, she was real Sophia in front of Yuri. She cared for him when he got into a fight, she scolded him when he punched someone from Section A and was called to the guidance office.

She was different with Yuri.

Yuri shrugged. "The way she looks at me, the way she smiles when we talk. It's different from how she interacts with you. With you, it's like she's trying to impress you or get your attention. With me, it's more...natural. Like she's herself."

"Do you think you'll talk to her about how you feel?" I asked Yuri.

Yuri shook his head. "I was not sure. I was scared of ruining our friendship but.....but I still...still did."

" YOU TOLD HER WHAT???" I asked him shockingly.

"I told...I told her...I mean I asked her to be my girlfriend but.." Yuri said and just bowed down. His eyes were kinda glistened. I've never seen him like that after...after what happened with Eve.

" But what Yuri?" I asked curiously.

"She said she cares about me alot and that I'm an amazing person and stuff but she isn't ready for a relationship after what happened between you and her." He said and his voice was literally shaking.

I didn't know that she'll be so hurt because of me. I didn't want to hurt her but I just couldn't like her. It's always been Jay for me. It's always been her and it'll be her forever. I can't look at any girl like that.

Yuri sighed and spoke again.

"She's scared Keifer that everyone will think that she's just using me to forget....to forget you." He said and I suddenly hugged him.

"Everything will be fine Yuri. Just trust me everything will be fine."

"Yupp...thanks a lot Keifer for being my friend. Now let's eat something, I'm really starving." He said and we both chuckled.

A pang of sadness stirred inside me. I know Yuri liked someone after a long time and yet again he couldn't get the girl because of me.

Jayjay's POV

I sat with Sophia in the cafe, listening as she poured out her heart about Yuri. We were sitting at the cozy corner table by the window, and the sunlight streaming in highlighted the troubled look on her face.

"Jay, I don't know what to do." she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yuri asked me to be his girlfriend, and I had to say no."

I set my cup down, intrigued. "Why did you say no? Do you not have feelings for him?" I asked gently.

Sophia sighed, her eyes drifting away. "It's complicated. I do care about Yuri, a lot. He's an amazing person, and I value our friendship so much. But...there's still stuff with you and Keifer that I'm not over." she admitted, her cheeks flushing.

I nodded understandingly. "You mean how you had a crush on Keifer?"

Sophia nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. "Yeah. I feel like people will think I'm using Yuri to get over my feelings for Keifer, and I don't want to hurt him like that."

I reached out and took Sophia's hand. "Sophia, Yuri knows you had feelings for Keifer. He's not blind. But he still asked you out because he genuinely cares about you. And I think he would understand if you needed time to figure things out."

Sophia smiled weakly. "I know. It's just...I don't want to lead him on or hurt him. He's been such a great friend to me."

I squeezed her hand. "You're a great person, Sophia. You'll figure this out. And if you need any advice or just someone to talk to, I'm here for you."

Sophia took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "It's not just that, Jay. I have feelings for Yuri, I think. But what if I'm just using him as a rebound or a distraction from my feelings for Keifer? What if I'm not really over those feelings?"

I thought for a moment before responding. "Sophia, you can't control how people perceive things. But what you can control is being honest with yourself and with Yuri. If you do have feelings for him, don't dismiss them just because of what other people might think."

Sophia nodded, looking thoughtful. "You're right. I just need to take some time to figure things out, I guess."

I smiled. "Exactly. And I'm here for you, no matter what."

Sophia broke the silence, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're right. Thanks, Jay. You're always so level-headed about things."

I laughed. "Someone has to be, right?"

As we sat there in comfortable silence, sipping our drinks and watching the world go by outside, I couldn't help but think about my own relationship with Keifer. We had our own complications, our own ups and downs. But we were working through them together, and I was grateful for that.
