Chapter 15 Hope!!

Keifer's POV

Was she jealous when me and Sophia hugged each other? I don't know but she turned away. Maybe she was disgusted. But what does she mean by letting me go? Free from my guilts? Happy with 'her'? I really don't understand, what's going on in her head.

And who was that fucker who hugged Jayjay like he owns her or something? Does she know him? Are they friends or more than that? Ughh the jealousy is eating me up.

All four of us went back to our class and sat on our respective seats. That Beck guy sat next to Jay at Sophia's chair and kept looking at Jay, smiling at her and she smiled back. What the hell is going on between them. The next teacher came and looked towards that Beck guy.

"Are you the new transferee from New York?" The teacher asked and he nodded.

"Come in the front and introduce yourself."

"Hello guys, I'm Beck Ferguson. I got transferred here from New York. I'm half filipino so there will be no language barriers between us. I already know Jay and we're very good friends. Looking forward for making new friends here." He said and smiled. The whole class started whispering again.

"He seems like a nice guy. Is he Jay's boyfriend or something?" Sophia looked at me and I shrugged.

" No, he's not Jay's type."

"She was in New York for two years and maybe her type got changed plus this guy seems nice and caring. He's handsome too." She said and smiled. I didn't reply but this guy and Jay cannot be together. She's mine and no one can steal her from me.

The next day

I woke up early today or you can say that I didn't sleep at all. My mind kept going back to Jay and her relation with that new guy. I got ready for school, left without breakfast, dropped Keigan and Keiren off to their schools. I was feeling damn tired when I reached the school.

I went towards the cafeteria. I was about to reach there when I saw Jay, my Jay hugging that Beck guy. It wasn't just jealousy, it was pain. The pain of losing her. I think I've lost her. I turned back and left for the music room again for the peace I needed.

Jayjay's POV

I came to school early today as Aries had to do some work. I entered my class and noticed that Beck was here too.

"Jay, I didn't eat my breakfast. Will you come with me to the cafeteria?" He asked and I nodded.

"Jay, my father died yesterday."

"What?"

"Yesterday I got a call from my uncle. My father is no more. He suffered a heart attack. Jay, he was my only parent alive. My mum died when I was six and now my dad too." He told me and started sobbing. Without even a second thought, I hugged him tightly.

"Jay, I don't have any family left."

"Cry it all out Beck. I'm here. I'm your friend and I'll never ever leave you."

When we pulled apart, Beck smiled. It was just a little smile but it was real.

When went to the cafeteria and ate quickly. We headed back to the classroom since it was time for Sir Alvin's class already. We entered the class and Sir Alvin was already there.

"So, you're the new transferee from New York. I hope Section E is treating you well. If you need any help, ask Mr. Watson. He's the class president." Sir Alvin said and Beck nodded.

I looked at Keifer and he was literally glaring at Beck. I don't what is wrong with him. Why can't he treat people properly?

"So, class you all have to do a chemistry group project. Lemme announce the groups and no changing of groups is allowed." Sir Alvin announced.

Group 1: Ci-n, Blaster, Josh, Felix and Kit.

Group 2: Calix, Rory , Mayo, Eman and Drew.

Group 3: Keifer, Sophia, Yuri, Jayjay and Beck.

Group 4: Denzel, Edrix, Eren and David.

Ohh!! My god!! This group is way more awkward. I can't be in the same group as Keifer and Sophia. I can't see them acting all lovey-dovey. Ohhh!! God!! Why?????

Keifer's POV

Ohh!! God!! I'm in same group as Beck and Jay. This is more awkward than I thought. I won't be able to see them laughing together, sharing inside jokes with each other and hugging each other.

Sophia is also in the same group. She'll surely make things awkward between me and Jay.  I'm not saying that she's doing that on purpose. I know she likes me but the way she acts all clingy only when Jay is around, makes me wanna doubt her.

The class ended peacefully. All the groups started discussing about their project obviously except for our group. We were all awkward to say the first word.

"Hey guys for how long are we planning to stay silent. Let's discuss about the project. It's for our grade you know." Yuri said.

"Yeah, Yuri is right. Let's meet at my house after school." Sophia said and others nodded.

I got home and changed my clothes. I made sure that my brothers had lunch and left for Sophia's house. I got a little bit late as Sophia's house was far away from mine and I was struck in traffic.

When I got there all of them were already there and were waiting for me.

"Sorry, I got struck in traffic." I said and sat on the couch of Sophia's room.

"No problem. Now let's get started." Sophia said and we all started thinking of the topic of our project. We decided to choose the topic that Jay suggested. It was 'To Explore the Process of Saponification'. It is the process of soap making. We were researching about our project when I received a call from my Buttler.

"Hello. Is everything okay there?" I asked.

["Sir actually, Sir Keigan locked himself in the room again."]

"Don't worry, I'm coming back." I said. Suddenly the line went silent.

[" Kuya, Kuya Keigan is crying. Please come back soon."]

It was Keiren and he was crying too. I'm really worried now.

"Something happened to Keigan?" Jay asked worriedly. Before I could reply Keiren said from the other side.

[" Kuya, Is it Sister Jay? Please tell her to come to us. Please let me talk to her."] I put my phone on speaker.

[" Sister Jay, it's me Keiren. Kuya Keigan locked himself up. He wanna meet you. I also wanna see you. Please come visit us."]

Jay didn't say anything. She just got up from where he was sitting and held my hand.

"Let's go. They need you. They...they need us. Hurry up." She said controlling back her tears.

We left Sophia's house quickly. I opened passenger's seat door for her. She hopped in and I quickly started driving.

The ride back home was silent. There was a feeling of worry in air. I was sweating profusely. I don't know what happened to Keigan again but I'm really tensed about him.

My hand was on the gear when she suddenly put her hand over mine.

"Don't worry, he'll be fine." She said softly. I looked at her. My tears started flowing down. It's been a month since she's back, but today I saw the older Jay, my Jay, the girl I used to love and still do.

She cupped my cheeks and wiped my tears. I could see something in her eyes. Something raw, something like- longing and vulnerability.

For the first time, I've a hope, a little hope that we'll go back to the way we were because she was still there. My soft Jay was still there.
