Siya was broken after reading that diary.

The sun had already risen, casting a soft golden glow through her curtains, but to Siya, the world still felt dark. Those cruel words she had read echoed in her ears relentlessly, haunting her like a nightmare she couldn’t wake up from.

How could someone—a mother—write such things about her own child? About Veer?

Her eyes burned, yet she could still see those lines dancing in front
of her—

I taught Veer how to do craft because his father hated that thing, and I wanted him to hate Veer too. Why should he get happiness when I am miserable after giving birth to him.

Siya had blinked, rubbed her eyes, reread it again and again, hoping, praying it was a mistake. But it wasn’t.

Her hands trembled as she placed the diary back on the bedside table, almost as if it were a cursed object. Then, she broke down. Silent tears gave way to quiet sobs as her heart ached for Veer.

Is this what he had been carrying all this time?

Is this the weight that chained his every step, that fear behind every smile, that hesitation behind every emotion?

Is this why he’s so scared to be loved?

Is this why he always steps back, even when all he wants is to move forward?

Siya curled up on the bed, holding a pillow tightly to her chest.

Now she understood.

And now, she knew—she couldn’t let Veer fight this pain alone.

Getting up from her bed, Siya freshened up and got ready for her school

Tucking the diary in her bag, Siya ran downstairs, where her parents were already up and Siya ate her breakfast and ran out of her home

Her steps hurried as she tried to reach school as soon as possible Gargi had already left earlier because these days she always met Siddharth first since he picked her up a few blocks away from her house Apparently she didn’t want her parents to know about her and Siddharth yet and somehow Isha always ended up coming with Shashvat and seeing that Siya couldn’t help but scoff to herself

"Mein hi kaddu banke reh jaati hu lagta hai" (I’m the only pumpkin left behind it seems) Siya huffed and quickened her pace

As soon as she reached the school gate the first thing she did was scan the area to check where Veer was but before she could spot him her eyes landed on Siddharth and Gargi standing at a distance being all lovey-dovey and she had to resist the very real urge to roll her eyes hard enough they might disappear into her skull
