Jennie (grinning):
"You know, if you keep impressing the generals, I'll have to start calling you Commander Hotstuff."

Lisa (mock horror):
"Absolutely not."

Jennie (innocently):
"Fine. Captain-in-my-bed it is."

Lisa groaned, hiding her face. Jennie leaned down to kiss her forehead.

Jennie (softly):
"You're doing it, you know. Making space for yourself. Making them see you."

Lisa didn't answer for a long beat. Then—

Lisa:
"Maybe... for the first time, I actually want to be seen."

Jennie:
"Good. Because I see you, Lisa. Every version. Even the ones you still hide."

Lisa's eyes fluttered shut. The safety in Jennie's voice was the only place she felt fully hers.

Lisa's Apartment – Late Evening

Lisa was still awake when she received the call. It was late, past midnight. She'd been trying to unwind after a long day, but the flickering lights of her city apartment couldn't distract her. Her phone rang again, and this time, she didn't hesitate.

Lisa (to herself, sighing):
"Of course."

She answered.

Lisa (coldly):
"Yes, General?"

Kim Hyun Bin (on the other end, controlled):
"I need you here. Now."

The line went dead, and Lisa was already up, grabbing her jacket.

Kim Residence – Private Study

The room smelled of old wood and leather-bound books — a far cry from the sterile, cold feel of the military command. Lisa stood before the desk, arms crossed, her posture guarded. Kim Hyun Bin's eyes were sharp as ever, but there was something else hidden behind his stoic gaze. Something that had always been there but had never been spoken aloud.

Kim Hyun Bin (measuring):
"You're wondering why I called you here."

Lisa (without missing a beat):
"Yeah. You didn't need to drag me out of my bed for a social call."

Kim Hyun Bin leaned back, resting his hands on the desk. The tension in the air grew thicker.

Kim Hyun Bin (carefully):
"You're not just anyone. You're my... friend's daughter."

Lisa's jaw tightened at his words, but she held her ground.

Lisa:
"Cut the shit, sir. I'm here because you have something to say."

Kim Hyun Bin studied her for a long moment, as if debating whether to open this door or not. Then, in a rare moment of honesty, he spoke.

Kim Hyun Bin:
"You don't know the whole story about why I brought you into this. Your father... was more than just a man I fought beside in the field. He was a soldier with vision. A strategist."

Lisa's eyes narrowed. She wasn't sure if she wanted to hear what was coming.

Lisa (guarded):
"And what does that have to do with me?"

Kim Hyun Bin:
"It's why you're here. Why I insisted on grooming you for the position you hold now. I believed in your father's principles — and in your potential to be far greater than I ever was."

There was a pause. Lisa felt the weight of his words, but she remained silent.

Kim Hyun Bin (softening slightly):
"I expected you to be more like him. Calculating. Unemotional. But... you've always been different."
