The sound of boots on gravel. A figure in combat gear walks through the sandstorm like she owns the earth beneath her.

Lisa enters a dim barracks, strips her gloves, tosses them on a bunk, and pulls out a bottle of whiskey. She downs a shot, staring at a photo in her locker. The face is turned away.

Jennie peels off her gloves, her eyes betraying nothing. A nurse hands her coffee. She doesn't say thank you.

A chopper lands. Dust kicks up. Two pairs of eyes meet across the landing strip—one fierce, amused; the other unimpressed, unreadable.
Jennie steps off the helicopter. Lisa doesn't look away.
