Lisa offers her the cigarette.

JENNIE
I don't smoke.

Lisa shrugs.

LISA
Neither do I. It's just something to hold when I'm trying not to say something stupid.

Jennie steps closer, barely. The wind shifts. Their shoulders almost touch.

JENNIE
Then don't say it.
Lisa exhales. A long beat.

LISA
Do you ever want more? Than this?

JENNIE
All the time. I just don't believe in it.

LISA
Why not?

JENNIE
Because wanting more always ends with someone leaving.

Lisa says nothing.

They stand there, not touching, not speaking. Two hearts beating too loudly. No promises. No rules.

Just almosts.

🔹 INT. MEDICAL BAY

Jennie is prepping her kit. Irene walks in, double-checking the gear manifest. Behind her, Seulgi enters silently, tossing her a hydration pack.

IRENE (not looking up)
You're late.

SEULGI
You're insufferable.

IRENE (without missing a beat)
And yet you followed me in. Like a moth to bureaucracy.

SEULGI (smirking)
I like paperwork when it's signed in your handwriting.

Jennie arches a brow. Irene doesn't look flustered—but there's the tiniest smirk at the corner of her mouth. Jennie clocks it.

JENNIE

SEULGI (shrugging)
We've been doing that for years. Survival's the easy part.

IRENE (softer)

Beat. Jennie pauses at that. But there's no time—alarms start to blare.

The squad is gathered for lunch:
Lisa, Seulgi, Jisoo, Mingyu, Jungkook (newbie, cocky energy), and Rosé (intelligent, slyly funny tech specialist). The vibe is loose—soldiers teasing each other, energy crackling with camaraderie.

MINGYU (to Rosé, nudging her tray)
What is that? Is that supposed to be food?

ROSÉ (deadpan)
It's protein paste with emotional trauma.

JUNGKOOK
I heard it's better if you cry into it.

LISA
Or burn it with a flamethrower and pretend it's ash.

SEULGI (grinning)
That's the Captain's solution to everything.

JISOO
No, her solution to everything is: "Run it again."

LISA (mocking herself)
If you can't carry your teammate through a sandstorm while bleeding out, are you even trying?

Everyone laughs. Lisa mock-salutes.
Then Rosé leans in, sly:

So, when do we talk about Captain and Dr. Kim exchanging eye contact like they're in a K-drama?
