"They're... probably fine." Y/N clears his throat.

"I'll go see." Gia sighs, slipping out of the room.

"You don't think that we should go after Brooklyn?" Yaz shouts at Y/N, returning to the prior point of conversation.

Y/N sighs, "I just think maybe Sammy has the right idea."

"We shouldn't--"

"She doesn't!" Yasmina cuts in.

"Thanks." Sammy rolls her eyes.

"You need to start forming your own opinions, Y/N!" Yaz huffs, "You can't just want to abandon Brooklyn because Sammy thinks so!"

"First of all, this is me forming my own opinion! Second of all, Brooklyn abandoned us, Yaz." Y/N argues.

"If Brooklyn cared she would have said something."

"What if she's--"

"If she has time to ask us questions about the professor, she has time for a quick, 'my bad'." Sammy cuts Yasmina off.

"She is with the woman who tried to kill us." Yaz drawls on, "Who tried to kill her!"

"I understand that, but she chose to go with her." Sammy folds her arms.

"Brooklyn is family." Yaz crosses her arms as well, "And in my family, we're always there for each other."

"Don't you see?" Darius sighs, "There is no good answer here!"

"Brooklyn is with the woman who tried to kill her, but she also chose to be. This isn't an easy problem to solve. I-- I mean it's messy and complicated... and there's no good answer."

He takes a deep breath, "Brooklyn's death tore us all apart before. I don't want her life to do that too."

"How could you do this!?" A voice cries from outside in the kitchen.

"Kenji?" Y/N perks up.

"No, no, you did it on purpose! You never liked him to begin with!" Kenji shouts.

The five of them share a concerned glance before rushing out of the room and through the door in the kitchen, heading outside.

They find Kenji in tears as Nonna tries to explain herself and Gia stands there helplessly.

"How could you!? Now he's lost out there!" Kenji cries.

"Oh! What's going on?" Darius steps towards Kenji.

"I don't have time for this!" Kenji waves him off, rushing through the back gate.

"What did you do?" Gia frowns.

Nonna just looks down and doesn't say a word.

"Where are you, buddy!?" Kenji calls just outside the gate, "Papa Kenji loves you!"

"Kenji!" Y/N rushes out, "What happened to Smoothie?"

"Smoothie is gone!" Kenji whirls around to face him, "Nonna let him out, and now he's escaped, and I--"

The church bell looming over the town begins to ring, Gia and Nonna look up at it in confusion.

"Is that normal?" Ben glances at his girlfriend.

"No..." Gia looks down at the feather in her hand, "Maybe it's a warning."

"We have to find Smoothie." Darius insists.

"Smoothie!" Darius and Kenji call out at the group moves through the town, Gia and Nonna trailing behind.
