Authors Note Hi my beautiful readers, welcome to Signed With Desire. This is my first ever book and it's going to dive into the two worlds of Claire Whitmore and Juliette Barclay.
Signed With Desire Is going to be a slow-burn, age-gap, long distance lesbian romance book told through book club threads, late night emails, and the intimate spaces in between. This book is for the ones who've loved from afar - through screens, through pages, through the kind of intimacy that starts with sentences before even touching the skin. It's going to follow Claire Whitmore, a sweet 27 year old high school English teacher who is very curious and lives in New York City Then we have, Juliette Barclay, a 39 year old guarded psychologist from Edinburgh. These lovers meet through their shared love for literature in a quiet corner of an online lesbian book club. What begins with emails and subtle flirtations unravels the vulnerability, erotic tension, grief, and healing, and ultimately, love.
Please Note If the age gap mentioned in this story Twelve-year age gap makes you uncomfortable, this might not be the story for you. There is also a very *brief* mention of character death from Juliette's past - it's not the main focus of the story here but it will help you understand a little bit more of Juliette's emotional journey. I am writing Juliette as a practicing psychologist and with that being said, I am NOT a licensed professional. Any references to therapeutic practices mentioned in this book should not be considered as an accurate depiction of therapy as they are purely fictionalized for storytelling purposes.
The last thing I want to mention again is that this book will be a slow-burn and their distance plays a key role in many of the chapters. I do apologize in advance for any ups and downs that may experience while reading throughout this book.
Now that we've gotten through that, I want to say how very excited I am to be starting this book, it is my first ever book so please bear with me as I try and navigate writing and any spelling mistakes that might happen. I hope you come to love Claire and Juliette and their journey of long distance like i have.
Thank you for stepping into their world. Signed With Desire, VelvetErotica
