And 'pack'? What the hell was Ninja on about? Like, a group of people or something?
"Uh, right," I replied, running a hand through my hair and sounding totally unsure of myself. I mean, what kind of dream was this? First, the scarily personal bedroom, then Ninja karate-chopped me across her bed and now all this talk about a pack? How much chocolate milk did I drink last night?
Weirdly enough, Ninja seemed to pick up on my uneasy tone and turned to face me with a concerned expression, "Cal, are you okay? Did I hurt you? Oh my God, I'm so sorry! I just forget my own strength sometimes! You know, being a werewolf, a pure white one and Alpha's daughter at that, and you being a human - and I'd never hurt you on purpose! You're my twin sister, I love you! Oh no!" By the end of her speech, she looked like she needed a major chill pill or pat on the back. Unfortunately for her, I was a little preoccupied about what she said.
The adrenaline rush and pounding of my heart seemed to be back from this morning as I sat there - frozen in a room with way too much pink in it.
Oh, God.
I was wrong.
I'm not in a dream. This isn't a dream, I haven't been kidnapped. No, this is worse. Somehow, I'm not even sure how, I've gotten transported into like, a different dimension. This reminds me of those books I used to read on Wattpad where the main character is a pure, white wolf and usually the Alpha's daughter too -
No.
Please, please, please, no.
This cannot be happening. I haven't been taken into another dimension, I'm in a shitty, cliche werewolf novel and I'm not even the main character either! Hell, I'm in a werewolf story and Ninja just told me I'm human!
Fuck.
I didn't get to dwell on it any further since Ninja, apparently my flawless twin sister - she's got to be fraternal - started to shake me.
"Cal! Please answer me! I'm so sorry!" She cried, and luckily, I was able to get a good enough of reign on my wild thoughts to place my hands on her shoulders and stop her.
"Hey, hey! I'm fine, Ninja, just chill out, okay? I needed a moment, but I'm fine now," I said, and managed a small smile. Total lie. I was not fine. I was a freaking human in a Werewolf novel!
This seemed to calm her down enough though to stop sobbing hysterically and shaking me for dear life. "Okay, good. I'm really sorry, Cal, I didn't mean to throw you so hard," She sniffled and hugged me.
Uh, this was so awkward.
Ninja thought I was her twin sister and she was trying to have a moment with me, and I hated hugging. I was not a hugger.
So, I just kind of sat there and awkwardly patted her back for a few minutes until she released me and I decided it was time to get some answers. Hell, if I was going to be apart of this whole thing, I needed some clarification from fake-sister.
"Hey, um, Ninja?" I looked over at fake-sister who was still sniffling. Seriously, just go blow your nose!
"Yeah? And by the way, Cal, can you stop calling me that? My name's Skylar, not Ninja!" She playfully yelled at me, apparently now officially moved on from thinking she injured me.
Skylar.
Great to know. How long could I have gone without knowing her name for?
"Whatever. Anyway, remember how I'm human and you're a werewolf and stuff?" I asked, "Don't tell Dad or anything, but I've been kind, of not listening, about all this white wolf stuff. And mates? Psh, I'm human and I tuned that out long ago. Anywho, the real reason I came to wake you up is that I know you just shifted a few months ago and it hasn't hit me until recently, I have no idea what the hell is going on."
Boom.
Freaking nailed it.
I didn't know shit, but I did remember key facts from my short-lived Werewolf phase on Wattpad. Werewolves had mates, and most of the time, they usually shifted about sixteen. Seeing as I was pretty positive I was in your typical cliche plot-line, I was just winging it. The rest was all bullshit I hoped was right, except for the last part, seeing as I was completely sure I had no idea what the hell was going on. There was a lot of unanswered questions, but there was no way I could look at fake-sister and say, hey, by the way, I'm an imposter. I'm not really your sister and your life was most likely written at the hands of a fourteen year-old with WiFi and enough knowledge to write a pretty decent smut scene.
Skylar sent me a smile and rolled her eyes, "Why am I not surprised, Cal? Alright, whatever. I'll give you the short version. As you know, I did shift into a white wolf. I'm apparently really rare and pretty powerful too. I can get hurt easier in wolf form, but I'm stronger in human form. On top of that, I have Dad's Alpha blood in me as well, so I might as well be Super Wolf! As for the whole mate thing, you really should have listened more! I know you're human, but you also got Alpha Blood and just because the shifting gene skipped you doesn't exclude you from having a mate. It could happen. Hey, maybe we'll find our mates together or something! That would be so exciting, right, Cal?"
I laughed nervously, but my head felt like it was spinning, trying to absorb all this information. I was right, this was one of the most cliche Werewolf books out there - a pure, white wolf with all this power and the daughter of an Alpha as well. Twenty bucks says she's got some possessive Alpha mate who'll either reject her or control her entire life. Luckily, she hasn't found him yet though and I still have a little time to get used to all this before things go haywire with teenage angst.
As for the other thing fake-sister had said - about me having a mate? I hope not. There's no way I could deal with some possessive male trying to control my life. Besides, my heart belongs to Harry Styles! Right now, I'm not even going to consider it a possibility.
I'd already pretty much made my mind up about fake-sister though the minute she'd started telling her story. I'm not sure why I'm here, in this book, but I'm not going to just let my kind-of-sister get thrown to the wolves of cliche-land!
Ha, that was punny.
I'll be damned if she's going to be another victim to a predictable plot line.
"Cal? Ugh, you zoned out again! Can you stop?" Skylar whined and snapped me out of my thoughts.
I grinned at her, finally feeling a little more calm, "Sorry, sis. So, what were you saying?"
"Well, it's already seven a.m. and it's Monday! We've got to get ready for school, twin!" She said, hopping off the bed.
Wait, school?
Ugh, this just got ten times worse!

Author's Note: I know this sucked, I'm sorry! Also, warning ahead, there will be language. I just think it's only appropriate when one is thrown into this kind of situation that a colorful vocabulary is used.
Also, this is going to be a pretty light-hearted story with the occasional character development or depth thrown into a big mix of hilariousness, so don't take any of it too seriously.
