I do not claim to know the depths of military life beyond what I have learned from books, films, and secondhand accounts. If there are inaccuracies, pardon me.

I have deliberately left my characters nameless because this story is not about just one soldier—it is about all of them. The ones who fight, the ones who fall, and the ones who are remembered.
