Many days have passed since that day, filled with people dying over and over again, us waking up in our rooms, going to school, witnessing explosions, and reliving the same cycle. Many times, we skipped school and went to Killian's house for meetings instead. We made plans, tried to gather information, and came up with strategies.
So far, we've only managed to come up with one solid plan. Dante suggested that, "if we could somehow prevent the students from going to the canteen during the second break too, maybe the explosion wouldn't happen, because last time, it didn't at the first one. Instead, it occurred during the second break when students were actually there. That means whoever is behind this wants the students to die."
We did tried that but it gone wrong. So now the plan was, if we just find a way to shut down the school for that day, then no one will be there, and the explosion won't harm anyone. And if no one gets hurt, the loop might finally end. That's the plan we've come up with, and right now, we're working on it.
I picked up my phone when a message popped up in our group chat. The four of us had created a group on our phones, even though it disappeared every time the day reset. But still, we made a new one daily just to stay in touch.
Right now, a message had come from Jasper. He had written, "So, what's the next step?."
Dante: We need to do something that will get the school closed for that day. Let's think about it.
Jasper: Think? I thought you already had a solid plan.😒
Me: We can't always expect dante to come up with a plan. This time, we should figure it out together.
Jasper: Fine. I was just joking
Killian: I have an idea.
Dante: What kind of idea?
Killian: Come over to my place in the evening. I'll explain everything then.
Dante: Can't. I have somewhere to be tonight. I'm busy.
Me: Where are you going?
Dante left me on read.
Killian: Alright then, just skip school and come over now instead.
Jasper: Yeah, good idea. Not like going to school will change anything. Same old drama every day. Ugh.
Me: Alright then, see you all at killian's place.
I wrote and put my phone down.
I got up, got ready, and headed to Killian's house. When I arrived, Jasper was already at the door, waiting. Without a word, we stepped inside together. Killian's younger brother and my classmate, Gael, opened the door for us. He was dressed in his school uniform, his bag slung over one shoulder. "Oh hey silas," he said. We greeted eachother. "Kill's upstairs," he said casually. "I'm heading out to school. See you guys later."
With that, he waved and walked off, shutting the door behind him. Jasper and I made our way inside and found Killian waiting for us. He led us straight to his room. Jasper and I sat down, waiting for Dante to arrive.
"By the way, Kill... why are you letting Gael go to school?" I asked hesitantly. "I mean... he..."
Killian sighed. "At first, when the loop started, I didn't let him go. But now, what can I even do? Besides, he'd start asking questions, why he can't go, what's wrong, and I can't come up with an explanation every single day." "Yeah, makes sense," I nodded.
A little while later, Dante finally arrived. We all sat together, ready to hear Killian's plan.
Killian sat on the edge of his bed, leaning forward with his hands clasped together. "Alright, listen up. If we want to shut the school down, we need something serious enough to make them cancel classes, but nothing that actually hurts anyone."
Jasper folded his arms. "Like what? A fake bomb threat?"
Killian shook his head. "No, too risky. But a gas leak? That could work. If the school thinks there's a gas leak, they'll have to evacuate and cancel classes for the day." Dante raised an eyebrow. "And how do you plan to make a gas leak?"
Killian smirked. "The kitchen. Every morning, the cafeteria staff preps food before the first break. If we can tamper with the gas line just enough to cause a leak, but not enough to actually trigger an explosion, the school will have to shut down. They'll call in professionals to fix it, which means no school for the day."
I frowned. "How do we even do that without getting caught?"
Killian pulled out his phone, showing us a rough sketch of the school's kitchen layout. "There's a gas valve behind the storage racks. If we get in before school starts, we can loosen it just enough for the smell to spread, but not enough to cause a fire hazard."
Jasper looked skeptical. "And what if someone lights a match?"
Killian sighed. "That's why we make sure it gets detected early. As soon as the smell spreads, someone needs to report it before anything serious happens." Dante tilted his head. "And by 'someone,' you mean...?"
Killian smirked. "A teacher. One who'll actually take it seriously."
Jasper crossed his arms. "The kitchen's locked all the time. How are we even getting inside?." Killian turned to me. "That's where Silas comes in handy." "Me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yes," he nodded. "You're the closest to Mr. Harrison. Use that little promise you made him to get the kitchen keys from him."
I sighed. "Fine, I can handle that. But who's actually going inside to loosen the valve?"
"Jasper will," Killian said without hesitation. Jasper scoffed. "Great. Just great." Dante leaned forward. "Okay, but who are we telling about the leak? If we report it ourselves, it'll look suspicious."
Killian leaned back with a knowing smile. "I've got that covered. I know the school's head chef. I'll make sure he notices the smell and reports it himself. You guys just focus on your parts." "And all of this has to happen early in the morning," he added. A notification sound suddenly interrupted us. Jasper glanced down at the table, picking up a phone.
"Whose phone is this?" he asked. I looked over and saw someone's phone in his hand. "Mine," Dante said calmly. Jasper's eyes lit up as he read the screen. "Ohhh. So when you said you would be 'busy' this evening, you were actually going on a date... with a girl named Anna?." Dante froze for a second before quickly getting up and snatching his phone from Jasper's hand. "Don't read other people's messages!"
Jasper shrugged. "Hey, I wasn't trying to. It was right there on the screen. I have eyes, you know. I just happened to see it." Then he smirked. "But I gotta say, I never expected you to have a girlfriend." Dante didn't say anything. He just sat back down on the bed, slipping his phone into his pocket.
I raised an eyebrow. "I mean... why are you even going on a date? No offense, but you know the day is just gonna reset." Dante exhaled. "This is the twelfth time I'm going out with her. And yeah, I know the day will reset. But still... I want to go."
Aww. How romantic.
Anyway. After that, we all went our separate ways. I headed home, my mind still lingering on the plan, how I would convince Mr. Harrison and get the keys from him. I went over different approaches, considering what would work best. Eventually, I decided to take a break and watched some anime to clear my head. As night fell, exhaustion settled in, and before I knew it, I drifted off to sleep.
