"Killian."
A voice called out from the doorway. I turned my head and saw two boys standing there, calling for Killian. He got up from his seat and walked over to them. But as soon as I saw their faces, my entire body froze. It was them. The same two guys from my dream. From the way they looked, they were either juniors or seniors. But what did they want with Killian?. Kill left the classroom with them, and I sat there in shock, staring at the door. I glanced at Adan, considering asking him if he knew anything about those guys, but then I hesitated. If I asked him, he would just smirk and say, Oh, you're jealous, aren't you? Just like that dream. Huh. No way I was going to deal with that.
For a while, I stayed seated, my mind racing. Then, unable to shake off my unease, I grabbed my phone and walked out of the classroom. I wandered through the school, searching for Killian. I checked every place I thought he could be. The bell rang, signaling the start of break time, but I ignored it. I wasn't going to the canteen, not yet. I needed to find Kill first. As I moved through the corridors, I suddenly heard muffled voices coming from inside a classroom. I was about to press my ear against the door to listen when-
BOOM!
An explosion. From the direction of the canteen. Before I could even react, the door in front of me was flung open with such force that it slammed into my face. Pain shot through my nose as I stumbled back and hit the floor. Through the haze of pain, I saw Killian standing in the doorway. The two guys from earlier were behind him, staring at me in shock.
"You guys go. I'll handle him," Killian said to them.
They nodded and ran off in the direction of the canteen. One of them was gripping a large padlock, while the other held a set of chains. What the hell was going on? Killian reached down, grabbed my arm, and pulled me up. "You okay?" he asked. My hands were shaking. My whole body felt cold. "Kill... What... What the hell is happening?" I stammered. "Looks like there was an explosion," he said calmly.
How the hell was he so calm in this situation?!
"Kill... you... you guys... you were going to lock the doors, weren't you?" I asked, my voice trembling. Killian's eyes narrowed slightly. "How do you know that?" I swallowed hard. "I saw it... in my dream." Killian went completely still. "You this in your dream? you saying this all happened before? And then you woke up, thinking it was just a nightmare... but now it's happening again? " I nodded slowly. His expression darkened. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me back into the classroom. Before I could react, he pushed me inside and slammed the door shut behind me.
"Stay here," he said.
Then-Click.
He locked the door from the outside. "Kill! What are you doing?!" I yelled, pounding on the door.
But he was already gone. I sat there, waiting. Minutes passed, each one dragging on longer than the last. My heart pounded in my chest as I kept glancing around the empty classroom, my ears straining to pick up any sounds from outside. Finally, unable to sit still any longer, I walked over to the window. Peeking outside, I felt my stomach drop. The police had arrived.
The entire school was in chaos-students screaming, teachers rushing around, the sound of hurried footsteps echoing through the halls. My breathing quickened. What the hell was happening? What were Killian and those guys involved in? Just then, the door creaked open behind me.
I turned around sharply, my whole body tense. Standing in the doorway were Killian and the two guys from before. The two of them walked inside casually, as if nothing had happened, and took seats on the chairs. Meanwhile, Killian just stood there, watching me. My chest tightened, my breath coming in shaky gasps. I looked at him, my vision blurring as tears welled up in my eyes.
"What... what the hell is going on?" I asked, my voice breaking as tears streamed down my face.
"I'll explain everything to you," Killian said, his tone firm yet calm. He gestured toward the two other boys before turning back to me. "But for now, we need to go home. You Silas, come to my house at 4 PM. I'll explain everything then. Right now, go home. Your uncle must be worried. Freshen up, get yourself together, and then come later." I wanted to demand answers right then and there. I wanted to yell, to shake him, to make him tell me what was happening. But before I could even open my mouth, Killian grabbed my arm and pulled me outside.
And that's when the horror truly sank in. The moment I stepped outside, my breath hitched. My stomach twisted violently, and my hands began to tremble. The school grounds were no longer the place I had known. Instead, they were a graveyard. Bodies. So many bodies. Students lay scattered across the ground, some completely still, others barely moving. The air was filled with agonized groans and the distant sound of sirens approaching. Blood painted the pavement in sickening splashes of red, soaking into the ground.
And then there was the canteen. The entire area was engulfed in flames, roaring hungrily as they devoured everything in their path. The fire cast an eerie glow against the blackened sky, thick smoke curling into the air. Among the wreckage, I could make out charred, lifeless bodies-people who had been alive just minutes ago.
A horrifying smell filled my nose-burning flesh. It was too much. My legs threatened to give out beneath me, but before I could collapse, my eyes landed on someone familiar. Uncle Sucre. Rio's uncle. He stood frozen in place, his body trembling, his hands clutching his uniform tightly. His head was bowed, his shoulders shaking as if he were trying to hold back sobs.
I looked down and a corpse was cover by a white sheet. No. No. No. A cold chill ran down my spine as my vision blurred with tears. My body felt numb, my chest tightening painfully. That body under the sheet must be Rio. My breath came in shallow gasps. My knees buckled, and a choked sob tore from my throat.
Killian grabbed my wrist, steadying me before I could collapse completely. He didn't say anything, didn't offer false comfort. He just guided me toward his car and pushed me inside. I barely registered anything as his driver started the engine. My mind was too clouded, too overwhelmed by the weight of what I had just witnessed.
Within minutes, we reached my house. As soon as the car came to a stop, I stepped out, and there he was Uncle Lee.
He stood at the doorstep, his expression lined with deep concern. The moment he saw me, he rushed forward and pulled me into a tight embrace. I clung to him, my whole body trembling. "I'm fine," I whispered, though it was a lie. I wasn't fine. I would never be fine after this. Uncle Lee held me for a few more seconds before finally pulling away. He looked at Killian and they greeted eachother. "I should leave now. I have something to take care of," he said, his voice neutral.
I turned to him, still struggling to process everything. "Goodbye," I murmured, my voice hoarse from crying. Just as I was about to head inside, Killian called out, "Wait." I stopped in my tracks and turned around. Uncle Lee had already gone inside, leaving just the two of us standing there. Killian's face was unreadable, his eyes dark with something I couldn't quite understand.
"Be at my house at 4 PM," he said firmly. "Don't forget." Then, after a pause, his voice dropped lower. "And Silas..." He took a step closer, his gaze piercing into mine. "Whatever you do-don't fall asleep." His expression remained serious, his tone deadly. "If you do...Everything will start all over again."Before I could ask what he meant, he turned away, got into his car, and drove off.
Leaving me standing there, my mind spinning, my heart pounding, and an unshakable fear settling deep in my bones.
