"Sorry, sir! I'm late!"
I announced dramatically as I pushed open the door. Honestly, what an entry Ha!. Mr Harrison didn't look amused. He adjusted his glasses and gave me a pointed look. "Mr. Silas Duvell, the class is already over. You're incredibly early... for the next one." I let out a nervous chuckle. "Oh... yeah, see, there was this dog, and it kind of... chased me on the way here," I said, rubbing the back of my neck. And this is actually true. When I reached the bus stop near my school, a dog started chasing me. I had to run around in circles to escape it, and when I finally got rid of it, I continued walking toward the school.
The teacher sighed, gathering his books. "Since it's the first day, I'll let it slide. But next time, be on time." He started walking toward the door, and I stepped aside to let him pass. Just as I was about to go inside the classroom, he grabbed my wrist and leaned in, whispering in my ear, "Look, I'm letting this go today, but you better bring me Miss Emily's number next time. Got it?."
I rolled my eyes but smirked. "Fine, fine. You'll have it by tomorrow. Deal." Satisfied, he let go of my wrist and walked out. This guy and his obsession with Miss Emily... seriously. Shaking my head, I finally made my way to my seat. "Oh hey, Goat! How's it going?" I greeted my friend Adan, reaching out for our signature handshake a little ritual, a mark of our friendship. He smirked, clasping my hand.
"You mean 'Greatest of All Time'? Wow, thanks for the compliment. I'm doing great, man. What about you?." I grinned mischievously. "I meant the animal and I'm good too, just really missed you, buddy." "I missed you too, man," Adan said in an overly sweet tone. "You two literally met just two days ago," Killian's voice came from behind us. Oh. When did he get here?. Adan turned to him with a smirk. "See, Kill, you're so irrelevant that your presence doesn't even register. Tsk tsk... I almost feel bad for you."
"Don't listen to this mule; he's just spouting nonsense," I said to Killian. Killian was... different. A serious guy, impossible to read. I never quite understood him. He wasn't the social type, barely spoke to anyone, and didn't have many friends. In fact, it was safe to say that Adan and I were the only ones he had. Oh and yeah, there was one time like a lot of years ago when Adan and I helped him out with something. That's when he became our friend. Or more like....we forced him hehe. But i really do feel like he thinks of us as friends too.
"How's it going, Kill?" I asked, flashing him a smile. "Good. What about you?" he said, his tone as flat as ever. "Going fine," I said, then added, "How's Gael?" Killian glanced out the window before replying, "I dont know. He should be fine. We don't talk much." Gael is Killian's stepbrother, which is exactly why Killian doesn't like him. He's in our class too, but he didn't show up today. "Oh, I see. By the way, have you guys heard about that new anime? I watched four episodes, and it was really-" I didn't even get to finish my sentence when two guys walked into the classroom and called for Killian.
As far as I knew, Killian didn't talk to anyone. So how was this happening? Without a word, he got up and walked over to them, then all three of them stepped out of the class together. I turned to Adan, confused.
"Since when has this been a thing?"
"What?"
"Since when does Killian have other friends?" I asked. "Why? You jealous?" he teased with a grin. "Shut up. Why would I be jealous?" I shot back. "Oh, come on. You have a crush on Kill, don't you? Did you forget? You literally said it yourself," he smirked. My face burned red for some reason, and I started feeling flustered. "Idiot. That was when we were kids. I didn't even understand anything back then, I just said it without knowing what it meant," I muttered. Then, rolling my eyes, I added, "Besides, we're both guys. Don't be stupid."
Now, before you start thinking anything weird about me, let me tell you a story. Seven years ago, when I was ten, Adan moved to another country with his parents. He was gone for a whole year, and during that time, Killian was the one who looked after me and helped me whenever I needed it. We spent a lot of time together, playing outside, just the two of us. He was so gentle with me and took great care of me. That's why I liked him a lot. Oh and I first heard about love from Uncle Li. And that was only because I caught him watching a movie where two people were kissing.
