06 - First Loop'2

Start from the beginning

And then- boom.

A deafening explosion shook the entire building. The walls trembled, the windows rattled violently, and for a moment, it felt like the whole world had cracked apart. My breath caught in my throat as a wave of heat and dust rushed into the room. I instinctively squeezed my eyes shut, covering my ears. My heartbeat pounded against my chest, fast and erratic.

Seconds passed-long, dreadful seconds-before I forced myself to move. I got up. I forced my shaky legs forward and stepped out of the classroom. The hallway was chaotic students running, teachers shouting, alarms blaring. The noise was coming from the canteen...and also from the junior-senior building next to ours. My stomach twisted at the realization that the entire school was drowning in cries of pain and terror.

I ran. Reaching the canteen, my heart dropped. Flames engulfed the place, smoke rising in thick clouds. As I stood frozen in the midst of the chaos, my heart pounded violently against my ribs. The canteen was swallowed in flames, smoke thickening the air, making it hard to breathe. The screams, the cries, the destruction. Frantically, I scanned the wreckage, my chest tightening with fear. My stomach twisted as I stumbled forward, pushing past the burning debris. My hands shook as I lifted a fallen chair, my breath catching in my throat as I saw-

Kendrick.

Or what was left of him. His body-his face-was unrecognizable. Torn apart, burned beyond recognition. His clothes had fused with his skin, melted into the deep, charred wounds covering his lifeless form. The air reeked of scorched flesh, of blood and death. My body trembled as I reached out, my fingers hovering just above his shoulder. But I couldn't bring myself to touch him. I squeezed my eyes shut, my breathing uneven. I wanted to scream.

A shudder ran down my spine as I turned my head and my heart dropped again. Atlas.

He lay beside Kendrick, his body twisted unnaturally, as if he had been thrown by the blast. His eyes were open-but they weren't seeing anything. Blood dripped from his lips, a deep gash running from his temple to his jaw. His arm, once strong, was now limp, covered in burns and deep wounds. A strangled noise escaped my throat as I fell to my knees. My hands curled into fists, my nails digging into my skin. I looked at the other side. And gael was laying there. His face streaked with dirt and blood. He was injured. "Gael!" I rushed toward him, my hands shaking as I kneeled beside him. He looked at me, his lips parting slightly as if he wanted to say something but no words came out. And then his body went limp.

My breath hitched. "Gael?" I shook him, my fingers gripping his shoulders. "No, no, no, Gael!" But he didn't respond. His chest wasn't rising. His eyes weren't blinking. He was dead. A sharp, suffocating pain gripped my chest. My mind screamed at me to deny it, to wake him up, to do something but I couldn't. I could only sit there, the weight of his last words in the car slamming into me like a knife to the heart. "One day, you'll miss me."

I gasped, my hands trembling. I had hated him. I had pushed him away. But now now, I'd give anything to take it back.Tears blurred my vision, but before I could even process my grief, my gaze snapped to another figure lying nearby.

Silas. He was on the floor, injured, his breathing shallow. My chest tightened. No. Not him too. I scrambled toward him, ignoring the pain searing through my heart. "Silas," I called, shaking him gently at first, then harder. "Silas, wake up!" My voice cracked. He was the one person I couldn't lose. He wasn't just a friend--he was the friend. The one who had always been there. The one I trusted the most.

He didn't move but he was breathing. I clenched my teeth, trying to fight back the rising panic. I had to get him out of here. I had to---A sudden crash echoed through the room. Glass shattered as some masked men burst in through the windows, dressed in all black, their faces hidden behind dark masks. Guns in their hands. My body went cold. I should have run. I could have run. But I couldn't move, not when Silas was still lying there, unconscious, helpless. If I left him, he would die. I made my decision.

I grabbed Silas, forcing myself to lift him up. My legs screamed in protest, my arms shaking under his weight. I took a step back, my eyes darting toward the exit. I just had to get out. Just a little more-A shot rang out.

Pain exploded in my side, white-hot and searing. My body jerked violently, my grip on Silas loosening. I stumbled, falling onto the cold, blood-stained floor. Silas collapsed beside me. I gasped for air, my hands pressing against my side where the bullet had struck. But before I could even cry out, another shot hit me. Then another. The pain was unbearable. My vision blurred. My breaths came out in shallow, broken gasps. Everything around me was fading, slipping away like sand through my fingers. The last thing I saw was Silas's face before the darkness consumed me.
