"Where did it go...?" Y/N mutters as they scan the water below.

The boats suddenly explode out of the water as the hippopotamus erupts from beneath them, sending them flying. It pushes them up onto shore with the weight of its head.

Kenji leaps into action... once again, grabbing a mango from the cooler and propelling it towards the animal, "Eat this, dirtbag!"

"Seriously!?" Darius complains.

"What are you doing!?" Ben groans.

The hippopotamus stops in a moment of consideration before turning to the fruit and beginning to munch on it.

"Throw more, throw more!" Ben and Darius both urge with a sudden change of heart.

Kenji stands on the edge of the boat, tossing mangos in rapid succession, each fruit going farther and leading the hippo away.

Kenji laughs, "I can't believe this is working!"

One of the flying fruits pelts the hippo in the back of the head and its suddenly back on the attack, charging towards the boats and roaring loudly. Everyone screams as it jumps, tilting them forward.

Y/N slips from his seat, ramming into Ben and sending the other man flying forward and causing Brooklyn's phone to fly from his pocket and straight into the hippo's mouth. Kenji is quick to reach for it, putting his hand right in the creature's mouth.

"Stop!" Yaz cries, grabbing Kenji under his arms and tearing him backwards just as the hippo slams its jaw shut.

Sammy snatches up the oar and begins pelting the animal on the head, "Take that!"

Zayna grabs a flashlight and shines it directly into the hippo's eye, causing it to jump away, the boat splashing back into the water.

"Yeah!" Kenji cheers, "See your life flash before your eyes, hippo!?"

"Come on, get the boats to the middle of the river!" Zayna urges, maneuvering her boat around, "It's too deep, the hippo won't be able to stand and attack us there."

The wild animal keeps chasing after them as they excel towards the deeper water, but it slows down once they get too far in.

"Woo hoo!" Sammy grins, nudging Zayna as everyone takes a moment to relax, "We did it, girl!"

"Who knew hippos could be so aggressive?"

"Actually, hippos kill nearly 500 people in Africa every year!" Darius cuts in.

"Thanks, what a great time to share that comforting fact." Zayna drawls sarcastically.

"Well, it was no match for us!" Kenji boasts.

"Oh, snap." Yaz huffs as the water in the bottom of the boat begins to soak through her shoes.

"We might have underestimated the hippo." Ben sighs.

"Wet socks." Y/N groans as he perches on the bench of the boat to avoid getting any wetter.

They use the empty fruit baskets to begin bailing the murky water out of the ships slowly.

"Hey, I know where we can go!" Zayna perks up, "There's a place not far, my baba takes me there sometimes. We can trade our boats out for new ones."

"You heard her people, follow Zayna's lead!" Kenji encourages as he starts the motor back up.

They pull up to shore and observe the alleged trading spot that Zayna's been leading them too, but under closer inspection it seems like no one has traded here for a while.
