The city stretched out before you, a glittering sea of lights against the dark horizon. From the rooftop where it all began, you stood side by side with Liu Xiao, his presence as steady and familiar as the pulse of your own heartbeat.

The wind ruffled his dark hair, but he didn't seem to notice. He was too busy watching you.

"You're staring again," you teased, tilting your head to meet his gaze.

He didn't look away. "So?"

You huffed a soft laugh, shaking your head. "You're impossible."

He smirked, but it was softer now, lacking his usual edge. "You're the one who keeps coming back."

You turned back to the skyline, your fingers finding his almost instinctively. The city had always felt too big, too restless-like it never truly stopped moving. But here, now, with him, everything felt still.

Liu Xiao exhaled, his grip tightening around yours. "You still don't regret it?"
