Wei Wuxian was exhausted but couldn’t take her eyes off her son. His tiny fingers curled around hers, his face soft and peaceful as he drifted to sleep. Lan Wangji sat beside her, silent but unwavering, his gaze fixed on their child.
Jiang Cheng, still standing by the doorway, looked both exasperated and conflicted.
— So what are you naming him? — he finally asked, breaking the silence.
Wei Wuxian blinked, then turned to Lan Wangji.
— We… haven’t actually decided yet.
Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes.
— You had nine months, and you still didn’t pick a name?
— Excuse me for being busy with other things, — Wei Wuxian muttered, shifting tiredly.
Lan Wangji was quiet for a moment before he spoke.
— Lan Suying.
Wei Wuxian’s eyes widened slightly.
— Suying?
Lan Wangji nodded.
— ‘Su’ for simplicity. ‘Ying’… for you.
Wei Wuxian’s breath caught in her throat. She glanced down at the tiny bundle in her arms, a lump forming in her throat.
— Lan Suying… — she murmured, testing the name on her lips. It was beautiful.
Jiang Cheng, for once, didn’t have a snarky remark. He just nodded stiffly, looking away.
— It suits him, — he muttered.

A Month at Lotus Pier
The next few weeks passed in a blur. Wei Wuxian recovered slowly, with Lan Wangji constantly at her side. Lotus Pier, despite its initial awkwardness, became a place of quiet peace.
Jiang Cheng, to everyone’s surprise, didn’t throw them out. He still grumbled, still complained, but he never once told them to leave.
Somewhere along the way, he even found himself standing by the crib, watching his tiny nephew sleep.
— You better not grow up to be like your mother, — he muttered one night, arms crossed. One Wei Wuxian is already too much for this world.
The baby yawned in response.
Jiang Cheng sighed.
— Yeah. That’s what I thought.

Leaving Lotus Pier – A Farewell Between Siblings
A month passed quicker than Wei Wuxian expected. Her recovery was steady, and little Lan Suying was growing stronger each day. He had his father’s quiet temperament but his mother’s curiosity—his tiny eyes always wide, taking in everything around him.
But soon, it was time to leave.
Wei Wuxian stood at the entrance of Lotus Pier, holding her son while Lan Wangji secured their belongings. Jiang Cheng stood a few steps away, arms crossed, expression unreadable.
— So, you’re really leaving?
— Did you think I’d stay forever? — Wei Wuxian teased, rocking Suying gently.
Jiang Cheng huffed.
— No. But it was… quieter without you causing trouble.
Wei Wuxian grinned.
— You’re saying you’ll miss me?
— I’m saying Lotus Pier might finally get some peace, — he shot back, but there was no real bite in his words.
A brief silence stretched between them before Jiang Cheng sighed.
— …Take care of yourself, Wei Wuxian. And the kid too.
Wei Wuxian’s smile softened.
— You too, Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng hesitated, then reached out, carefully brushing a finger against Suying’s tiny hand. The baby gurgled, gripping his uncle’s finger tightly.
Jiang Cheng scoffed.
— He’s already got a strong grip. Just like his mother.
Wei Wuxian laughed.
— Maybe he’ll grow up to be like you instead.
Jiang Cheng made a face.
— Let’s hope not.
Lan Wangji approached, nodding respectfully to Jiang Cheng before glancing at Wei Wuxian.
— It is time.
Wei Wuxian nodded, adjusting Suying in her arms.
— Goodbye, Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng watched them go, his expression unreadable. But as they disappeared into the distance, he muttered under his breath—
— …See you later, Wei Wuxian.
