One Night

Chapter 6

It's been a little over a month since I been staying with Jessica and Rick and I like it here. They have became my new family. Their kids are awesome and so cute , Jessica gave me the job to be their babysitter when they are business trips and want to have alone time on vacations. These kids are like my nieces and nephew. I lost my job at target because while I was in bed rest for couple of days I forgot to call them. It's cool because I didn't want to see Kevin's face anyways.

"Tete bri , can I have some juice" paisley asked me knocking me out of my thoughts.

The kids are here with me now because Jessica and Rick went to LA last week. They should be back any minute now.

"Sure lets go get  you some juice" I said picking her up.

When I got in the kitchen Rj and Prestley were eating their breakfast I made earlier.

"What do you guys want to do today"

"Can we go to the park Tete bri" Rj asked.

"How about I take you guys" I heard a deep voice say.

"Daddy!" The kids screamed running to give Rick a hug.

The Jessica walked and they ran and hugged her.

"Hey lil sis" Rick stated hugging me.

"How was your trip" I asked them while hugging Jessica.

"The usual"Jessica replied.

Rick got the kids dressed and took them to the park while me and Jessica started on lunch.

"What should we make for lunch"

"Chicken and cheesy rice"

"That's cool"

We started getting stuff ready , I put the pot of water on the stove and got the rice out. Jessica started opening the chicken to clean it off. As soon as the smell hit my nose I got the urge to throw up. I ran to the bathroom down the hall and let it all out.

"Are you ok" Jessica said while holding my hair.

"I don't know it's been happening a lot lately" I told her.

"Have your appetite changed"

"Yes I have caught myself eating more than usual" I answered confused by her question.

I brushed my teeth a little taken back by all the questions Jessica was asking me but she is my sister maybe she is just concerned.

" oh crap I knew this was going to happen"

"What , what's wrong?" I asked scared.

"Bri baby your pregnant"

I froze as those words came out her mouth. How could this be. I have been thinking about going back to school but I guess I got to stick to my online classes with this news. I got to make sure this is legit first.

"You want me to take you to the clinic to make sure I'm right?"

I jus nodded and grabbed my purse and phone and walked out the door. Who would think at 17 I would be pregnant. If I am I'm keeping this baby. Abortion or adoption is not the answer. I know who the father is but it hurts to know it ended up like this. Everything happens for a reason I guess. A baby is a blessing regardless of how it got in this world. We pulled up to the clinic and parked right in front. Lucky parking spot I guess. I sighed my self in and sat down. I felt like it took 20 years for them to call my name but it was really 20 minutes.

"Briana cross" the nurse called out.

I grabbed Jessica's hand so she can go back there with me. I need someone right now and she is my sister. We walked in the room and the lady had me pee in a cup when I was done I gave it to her and she left the room.

"You nervous"

"Yes I don't know what I'm gone do. The dad of this baby or possibly baby don't know and I have no where to go"  I broke down crying.

Jessica hugged me and rubbed my back.

"Now look here I never said I was going kick you out we just need a bigger house"

I looked at her and smiled this is like a blessing. She is a blessing.

"You are a great help with the kids and you are my little sister and I love you"

I hugged her and told her I love her too.

"So we will go house hunting with Rick and he knows already because I told him that when I saw you glowing before we left for the trip to LA. Also we will help you with the stuff you need with the possible baby. So don't stress I need my little niece or nephew to be healthy and I don't won't you worrying" she said while rubbing my belly.

"Thank you so much sis"

"What are sisters for" she said.

The doctor came in with a smile bright as day.

"Well ms. Cross you are for sure pregnant. Congratulations"

"Thanks doctor crews"

"Anytime here are your pamphlets about being pregnant and your journey along with your little bundle of joy and here is your prenatal prescription. Also go to the front desk to set your next appointment"

"Ok thank you" I said walking out while holding Jessica's hand and rubbing my belly with the other.
