Dachande x Female Human Elite!Reader (Predator Series)

After giving some remarks to the candidates, it was time to be paired up. " You will now be paired up. Elites, I expect you to hold true to your title." The Ancient said. " Excuse me?" I said as I raised my hand. Everyone looked towards me. " Apologies for interrupting but may I be partnered with candidate Yetinde?" I asked. I heard some whispers from everyone. " Well this is a first. An elite has never volunteered to be paired up with a candidate. But I suppose you are not like most elites. I will allow it." The Ancient said. " Thank you." I said with a bow. I stood back in line while the others were assigned their partner. " Why did you do that?" Na'rainde asked. " I wanted to know the secret behind his eyes." I said. " What does that even mean?" He asked. 
" I wanted to know why he looked so sad on that day and why he's still masking it. It's faint but the sadness is still there." I said. " Well I think you're crazy but hey, I've been wrong about you before." He said. We boarded the ship ad prepped our gear as we flew off to the planet. This hunt was on a jungle-like planet. Three queens were placed there and it was our job to eradicate them and their offspring. usually we try to capture the queens but for elite trials, eliminating them proves your worth. I was seated next to Dachande since we were paired up. I sat in silence the entire time, calming my nerves before the hunt began. As I sat in silence, I felt Dachande's eyes on me. I tried to ignore it the best I could. " Is there a reason you're staring at me?" I asked. 
"No. There isn't." He said. But I could see it in his eyes that he was lying. But I decided to humor him. " Alright." I said. I then went back to sitting in silence. But I could still feel his eyes on me. 
" You know, that's pretty annoying. Are you sure you aren't staring at me for a reason?" I asked.
" Well since you keep asking, I was just wondering  why you chose me as your partner. It's rare to see an elite choose someone to partner up with." He said. " I have my reasons. None of which you need to know of." I said. " I see..." He said. I could see a small smirk, or what was equivalent to a smirk, forming on his face.

I had an idea to what he thought my reason was but I decided to ignore it since we would be landing soon. We soon entered the upper atmosphere of the planet and headed towards the infested area. " To get a passing grade from me, I expect you to kill at least 100 bugs and one queen." I said." Only 100 and a queen? This will be an easy run." He said. " Oh, and you have one hour to do it." I said. " One hour?" He asked. I nodded. "An elite could do it in thirty minutes. Good luck. I'm going to get my own trophies while supervising." I said. I then headed off towards one of the hives. Dachande growled and followed me. We made our way through the hive, killing all of the drones in our path. Dacahnde managed to kill three but I managed to kill twenty. Whenever he did manage to score a kill, he would always show it to me to try and impress me. Typical Yautja males. Usually males would try and impress females with their bravery and skill in combat to try and win them over. It was as I suspected on the ship. He believes I chose him as my partner so I could eventually mate with him. "Fifth one down." He said as he beheaded another drone. " Weak. I just took down my thirtieth. You have to be a lot quicker to be considered an elite." I said. But he ignored what I said. I sighed. " Come on. Due to the amount of drones, the queen must be close." I said. I ran into the hive with Dachande following close behind me. As we approached the Queen's area, I quickly pushed him into the shadows when I saw two Praetorians. " Praetorians. The Queen must be pass them." I said. I peaked out and started scouting out the area. Elites aren't just strong, they're smart. They have to strategize sometimes instead of running in blindly. " Okay, I have a plan. We should...." I turn to tell my plan to Dachande but he wasn't next to me. I then looked towards the Praetorians and saw him about to attack. " No you idiot." I said as I took out my spear. He then attacked one from behind while I took on the other one. 

Dachande was a capable warrior but even he was struggling against the Praetorians. After defeating my PraetorianI went over to help Dachande with his. " Idiot!" I said as I stabbed the Praetorian. I walked up to him angrily. " You could've gotten killed you idiot! What were you thinking?! Elites don't rely on brawn alone! And don't give me some bullshit excuse about trying to impress me because I swear I will slap you." I said. Dachande remained silent. " Well?!" I said. 
" You are a hard one to impress." He said. I slapped him. " Let's just get this over with." I said. I started walking away but he grabbed my wrist and pinned me against the side of the hive. " We are not going anywhere until you explain yourself." He said. " Explain myself?" I asked. " Yes. Why did you pick me? If it wasn't for mating purposes, then why?" He asked. " Your eyes." I said. " My.....eyes?" He asked. he let go of my wrist. " Yes. The first time I saw you was when you arrived back on the homeworld after your initiation hunt. You were celebrating with the other young males but I could see that behind your happiness that there was also a hint of sadness. You were trying to hide it but since humans show and react to more emotion, I was able to detect it. So I teamed up with you to figure out why." I said. " So it wasn't about mating?" He asked. I nodded. " Yes. I have no interest in mating without forming a connection." I said. " A connection?" He asked. " Right. You guys just sleep around to bolster your bloodlines." I said as I considered the best way to explain this. " Humans form connections but sometimes those connections can lead to something more. A feeling of friendship can evolve into a feeling of love." I said. " Love?" He questioned. " Love is an emotion. It means that there's a person who you want to protect, care for, make smile, and just be with forever. Sometimes it doesn't work out but other times it does. While I understand it's a culture thing and I completely respect that, I just can't see myself taking multiple mates. I want one mate. I want someone to love and who loves me." I said. Dachande remained silent. " Come on. Let's go kill the queen. We're taking too long as is." I said. I then walked further into the hive and Dachande followed.
